Rise of the Witch (The Witch Hunter Series: Book 1) Introductory Price Kindle Edition
By the time the act was repealed in 1736, around 4000 ordinary people had been accused, tortured, convicted and executed. They were all innocent. Or were they?
When Peggy Stuart learns she shares her name with a notorious witch from the witch trials of the late 1600s in Scotland, she feels a desire to find out more information. Little did she know that her actions would lead to the Resurrection of the witch, who has lain dormant for over 300 years, waiting for the day she was released to once again unleash her powers on an unsuspecting world.
Finding that modern weapons are useless, and unable to control the witch, drastic action is considered by the government to try to stop her. Peggy and her partner, Matt Taylor, a historian at the local university and an expert in mythology must work together to try to discover her secret and how to stop her before the authorities carry out their devastating plan.
Their investigation leads them to shocking discoveries about the past, and present, which will change the world as we know it and thrust them into a new life where they must fight to preserve and protect.

About the author
Greg first became interested in the paranormal when his parents took out a subscription for him in 1980 for a magazine entitled 'The Unexplained'. Since then he has read numerous books on the subject, visited many reported haunted sites and taken part in investigations.
His interest in all things paranormal led him to start to write short fiction. He has recently finished a book exploring less well known haunted locations based on personal experiences and is developing at least one of his short stories into a full length fictional novel.
Greg's recent Witch Hunter series is gathering pace and there is around 4 novelettes planned for the series, before the final novel to conclude the series. At that point it is possible the series will be continued or a planned prequel series will be launched.
As a keen explorer of historical buildings and sites, Greg has recorded numerous tales of hauntings and had several as yet unexplained experiences himself. Some of these have been complied into the book 'Scotland's Hidden Hauntings', a collection of less well known haunted locations in Scotland. He is currently working on a second real ghost story book.

This book is a light read. It is well written and flows easily. The story grabs your attention and keeps it until the last page. You will probably, like me, say to yourself "Oh no! It's over already!"
The characters are believable and you can relate to them easily. The book is a novelette, and packed full of details and happenings.
Peggy Stuart learns she shares the same name as a witch from 17th century Scotland. Almost immediately she wants to learn more about this witch. As she tried to figure out what is going on, she calls Matt Taylor to help her. He is a historian at the local university. They are drawn to each other from the first moment they meet. Matt and Peggy join forces to find this witch.
Is Peggy Stuart the direct descendant of this witch Peagi Stuart?
Is Paegi Stuart an evil witch, or a witch who has been badly hurt?
There is one part about this book that gives us food for thought. It mentions that many of us may be descendants of witches in this country. The novel mentions these powers may be hidden because they were forgotten. You will cl=all me crazy, put after reading this book it made me wonder.
This is a fascinating book to read. I recommend it very much.
A witch from the 1600s has been resurrected, sort of, and she's continuing the search she began before she was burned to death. Everyone who gets in her way is in for serious trouble because she's a supernatural kind of witch (think hand flicks to kill, flame throwing palms, etc.) and she won't be slowed down. Eventually the government and military get involved and decide the only way to stop this witch chick is to nuke her. But, two civilians have figured out where the witch will be next and they set off to intercept her and hopefully prevent further injuries and a nuclear attack.
It was a good concept, but it just felt too rushed. I'm not sure if I'll read the second book. I personally didn't find it creepy it scary at all, but if you thought the show Charmed was scary, this would probably give you the creeps. It wasn't a bad read, and it went really quick, so I say give it a chance and see what you think.
There are a few spelling and grammatical errors, I won't lie, but the story is a great one and the next novelettes promise more excitement. I already put The Witch Hunter Series - Books 1 to 5. Extended Edition on my wish list

To Greg Stewart: Please do an edit on your books... they are really very good and you don't want them judged only on the errors...PLEASE...

I really love the way it ends. Victory isn't achieved by force or magic but by a mother's love empathy and compassion.

As much as I liked the story the book needs some serious proofing. I kept trying to correct it as I read. I gave up the frustrating mental corrections and just read to enjoy the story.
