WAITING for a bus on a busy road, you wouldn’t think that she was Hampshire’s own online dance sensation.

But hundreds of thousands of people around the world have now logged on to watch Ellie Cole’s bus stop boogie.

The toe-tapping 34-year-old, from Southampton, was captured on camera as she danced in Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh, close to where she works.

Now her three-minute routine has gone global after it was posted on a number of websites, along with the backing music Dancing Queen, by 1970s Swedish chart-toppers Abba.

Fans from as far as Australia, America and Brazil have commented on the original video, dubbed ‘Eastleigh’s Got Talent’.

Last night, the Daily Echo tracked down the secretary as she turned up at her usual bus stop – and she even gave us an exclusive performance.

The first film was taken by Nigel Baker and Jane Rowland, from their cafe opposite, J’s Corner Diner.

Last night Jane met Ellie and the pair embraced, laughing and joking about how her moves had sparked a global following.

Ellie, who lives in St Mary’s and works as a secretary for MTS Cleansing Services in Eastleigh, said that she was listening to Knock Down by Alesha Dixon while pulling out her iconic moves.

She said: “I have my headphones in every day on the way back from work and I just can’t help myself – I just dance.”

In the video Ellie starts her pavement party off with hands in pockets and eases into a gentle shoulder shuffle, before stopping briefly as a lorry rumbles past.

Before long she is moving her head happily from left to right, adding the occasional flourish with her hands as if playing an imaginary piano.

There is a momentary pause as a dog walker strolls past before Ellie pulls out a finger wag and body roll.

The routine is marked with an emphatic, downward karatestyle dance punch shortly before a Blue Star double-decker bus pulls up bearing the logo ‘A Brighter Way to Southampton’.

Ellie, who described herself as “young, free and single”, added: “My mum thinks I’m bonkers.

“But I’m a normal 34-year-old woman who just loves to dance.”
