Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tarot Maguire might be one of the most mysterious dragons his keeper raised. While other hatchlings almost constantly yelped, growled and squealed, not a single sound was heard from him since the day he hatched. He also never used telepathy to communicate with someone, and whenever another dragon tried to connect to him, they couldn't reach him—it was like he had no mind. Because of this, he often strayed from the other dragons and used to hunt on his own.

Despite his inability to communicate with other dragons, one day he fell in love with Keira Maguire. They needed no words to tell each other about their feelings, as a gaze meant more than a thousand words to them.
