It weights about 5 pounds. It holds quite a bit. I had small things hung on the top (socks etc.), two pairs of jeans, and 4 sweaters. It could have held more, but seems ample for a normal load, or things that can't be dried in a machine.

don't know the exact weight but I have put a set of full size sheets, pillowcases with a couple of towels and a few other small thing and it was just fine, nothing sagged or bowed.

Not sure in pounds, but about 5 bath towels and two pairs of jeans.

I've had six large wet towels on one rack with no problem.

the label says 40lbs, but i had less then 20 on the rack

I had a small wash on it with dungerees and shirts. held them no problem

Not too heavy, but nothing beats the old wooden racks as far as I am concerned.

It has plastic things that will break if you put something on it thats heavy. Its just for clothes, or you can throw a wet quilt on it etc.

we are putting 4 thick, wet beach towels on it, and it is working great

Having Arthritis may be difficult for one to handle be themselves. It may take two of you to close it up.

Amber, do yourself a favor and buy the wooden rack instead. Its easier to set up & take down. The plastic pieces must be locked/unlocked and would likely be difficult for your hands.

It doesn't! I just reviewed this item after finding out the hard way I'd thrown my money away. Not only will it not collapse according to the claim, when you attempt to remove the rods to store it that way, the ends of the rods start breaking off,. If you haven't bought this, save your money! If you have, try to get a refund and try another brand.

It comes apart very easy. would be a pain to do it everyday though. the hook is on top and when you unhook it the whole thing collapses good luck.

it was difficult to get to collapse for the first few times, but once the plastic got broken in it was fine, until the plastic broke 3 months later...

This is very easy to collapse. you use pull up on the sides and fold down. it maybe hard for you to put it back up though since you have arthritis I found it Little hard for me to line the 2 parts together but that might not be a problem for you.

The wooden rack that I used for years was much easier to collapse. You would just unhook it and lit it fall, that easy!

The same bars used at top to connect rack to hold together just lift and disconnect out of sockets. Very easy process.

You just undo the top rack and its collapses. No hard to do.

You lift the top part off and the whole thing collapses like an accordion. I have carpal tunnel and these are easy folding.

Hope you kept your instruction sheet-if not-It reads: To fold down your drying rack 1. Lift up both horizontal cross bars (C) at the top of each side support (A) and un-clip retaining pin (D) from it's bracket (E) on both sides. 2. The rack will now fold flat for storage. 3.TO reassemble simply snap retaining pins back into their bracket. 4. Be certain retaining pins are securely locked in place to avoid unexpected rack collapse.

I taped everything together with duct tape and it lasted for a little while and I ended up throwing the whole thing away....

call walmart and get the manufacturer number and tell them. They may replace it.

didnt know they would break!!! I bought them a few weeks ago.Hopefully they wont break..you can ask one of the walmart reps/staff for the spare part availability or shop online for them.I guess they should be available

There is nothing to do but buy a new one of better quality. I tried using 5 minute epoxy and the insert just broke in a different place.

You need to call Honey-do and make sure you have your proof of purchase when you call the company.

I would say no. It happened to me also and I only put casual workout clothes on it. 4 broke and I tried super gluing them to no avail. I just tossed the piece of junk in the garbage bin. I would not buy another one.
