Fun revisit of a favorite

I’ve been a fan of all E Chris Garrison books, including this one. I hadn’t read Blue Spirit in years, so the Audible was a great way to refresh myself on the details of book one in anticipation of the trilogy concluding hopefully later this year.

Stephanie Estes brings just the right amount of tentativeness to Skye, the very reluctant first person hero of the story. Her confidence grows as the hero grows into her own. She handles the various accents of the supporting characters quite well, frequently making it easier for me to recall their appearances in earlier chapters when I heard the name again. Her handling of Annabelle, the southern belle fire fighter, is spot on.

Garrison fans who want to revisit this very entertaining story will find much to appreciate, while new listeners who love fantasy stories of quirky, flawed heroes will be thoroughly entertained hearing Skye’s story dramatized so excellently. I hope the series continues and that Estes stays on ‘til the end of the Tipsy Fairy Tales trilogy.
