2024 TAX SEASON VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is calling for dedicated volunteers like you to join our mission in making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families across our region.

READ UNITED: MARCH IS LITERACY MONTH

In Southeastern Michigan, only 29 percent of households and communities meet the threshold of print-rich environments. With so much of a child’s success riding on their access to print materials, United Way’s Read United initiative is committed to putting more books in the hands of students across our region while encouraging students and families to read together. Through these efforts, United Way hopes to bring awareness to the systemic barriers that impede literacy.

SUMMER LEARNING ADVENTURE CAMP

WITH BRILLIANT DETROIT

Brilliant Summer Camp provides families and children an opportunity to explore and play all summer long and combat the challenges of learning loss. This hands-on summer learning camp will help students foster the love of reading, learn how to grow their knowledge of new things and make new friends. 

Students in kindergarten through third grade will participate in activities and games supporting literacy, science, art and more!
