1 min readBy: Scott Hodge

Tomorrow (October 22nd) marks the 25th anniversary of the enactment of the TaxA tax is a mandatory payment or charge collected by local, state, and national governments from individuals or businesses to cover the costs of general government services, goods, and activities. Reform Act of 1986 which dramatically simplified the tax code while lowering tax rates for individuals and corporations.

Tax reform is once again the hot topic in Washington so I thought it would be interesting to see how some of the major tax, budget, and economic indicators today compare to the conditions in 1986.
