BWI Shuttle Bus Crashes, Damages Light Rail

LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ) -- Emergency crews say an airport shuttle bus crashed on Route 170 and Terminal Road Sunday.

The bus ran into the pole that supports the wires that power the light rail.

MTA officials say a bus bridge was put in from the Linthicum station to the BWI station.

Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and another refused treatment at the scene.

Crews say the bus also damaged the light rail tracks leading to the airport. Service was temporarily delayed but has been restored.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
