Adobe Flash For Smartphones News Soon?

Filed under: Groundwork — mikecane @ 7:28 pm

My primary interest is writing and eBooks, so all day I’ve been monitoring the Twitterstream for the Tools of Change conference, hence no PrePoint posts.

One of the things demonstrated at the conference was a browser plug-in that will display an ePub eBook using Flash 10 technology.

Personally, that description made me cringe. As it is, my desktop PC — which is a 1.8GHz Celeron — continues to buckle under loads it used to handle easily prior to Microsoft updates. How will a CPU designed for a mobile device handle something like that? (Irritatingly — and very contrary to intuition — a problematic video file I had that wouldn’t play well on my desktop played fine on my 400MHz LifeDrive. No conversion of the file, either. Go figure!)

Anyway, here’s a tantalizing tweet that popped up:

My immediate reply tweet was to wonder if it won’t be for the iPhone — but for the Palm Pre instead.

There was no reply.

We’ll soon know.

  1. I soooooooo hope so. It would make sense for Palm not to lay it all out @ CES, at least I hope that was the case
