AoL Workshop | Blueprint of Belonging: Home, Situated-ness, and Emotional Cartography

The concept of home is always elusive. There are many ways to define it, and no way is more accurate and adequate than others. In the modern context, where 'home' is no longer just a physical site, a concrete structure, or an immediate community, how then can we define 'home'?

Can we utilize the technique of cartography, particularly emotional mapping and its non-traditional maps? Can we map out emotions toward our home in order to imagine the state of 'modernity' in which we situate our home? And can documentary photography be introduced as method and inquiry?

The event is free but with limited slots. (20 participants only)

Participants are encouraged to read through the supplemental readings before the workshop. For copies of the readings, follow this link: http://tinyurl.com/AoLreadings
