Could these be the lies that traps new members in the church of scientology? - ..

One of the first courses they try to get them to take as a new
member is the "Ups and Downs" course. It's sort of a watered down version of
the "PTS/SP" course. The first thing they try to do is to get them to
"identify" the following 2 different things as being one thing. They try to
get the new member to believe that an anti-social person and an
anti-scientologist are the same thing, which they are not. Just because a
person is against the church of scientology doesn't necessarily make the
person anti-social. At the top of the title for the document or HCOB article
it reads something like this: "The anti-social personality
( the anti-scientologist )" as if they were one in the same thing, they are
not one in the same. They put those two things next to each other in the title
of the article as if they were one and the same thing.

The next thing they try to convince the new member is that the reason
people attack scientologists, L. Ron Hubbard and the church of scientology is
because they are trapped in a past battle incident and don't want to see
anybody get stronger. If that's true then why have people who have reached
the level of "clear" been declared suppressive in the past? The church would
say: "they were declared because they were being suppressive". But why would
a clear be suppressive? L. Ron Hubbard tells us that the reason people are
suppressive is because they are trapped in a past incident. But isn't it true
that clears are not supposed to be trapped in anything from the past so why
would a clear be suppressive, what would cause it? Isn't the reason they are
called "clears" because they are supposed to be free and "clear" from the
past? If that's the case, how could a "clear" ever end up on the declare list?
Could it be that they were "declared" because of some other reason?

L. Ron Hubbard's explanation of why a person is suppressive doesn't
explain why a clear would end up on the declare list. But that is the reason
the church of scientology tells it's new members why people attack
scientologists and L. Ron Hubbard. How do they explain other situations where
the person being declared suppressive or the person attacking the church isn't
stuck in the past? No clear is supposed to be stuck in the past so why would
he or she be suppressive and end up on the declare list?

When you walk up to a person who has just taken this type of course and
try to tell them anything about L. Ron Hubbard or the church of scientology
that is in any way unflattering, what happens? Based on the data of those
courses, they will assume that you are an "SP", stuck in a past battle
incident and think everyone is out to get you. From that point on, it doesn't
matter whether what your saying is true or not, they won't listen to you. You
could have a mountain of evidence proving unethical behavior and crimes by
the church of scientology and it's staff members and they wouldn't hear you.
At that point, they are interpreting everything that they see and hear around
them based on the teachings of the course they just took.

You see, once you walk up to one of these members who have just taken
one those courses and try to tell them something that's not pro scientology
or pro L. Ron Hubbard, whether its true or not, all they will be thinking in
their head while you talking is something like this:

1. "sure, sure, I hear what your saying ( he's an SP! )"

2. "He's scared people are going to get free, that's why he's saying this"

3. "He's afraid that I'm going to get stronger and do him in"

4. "He's stuck in the past and thinks everyone is out to get him"

5. "He's afraid that I might get stronger"

6. "He's just mass showing up and I'm going to blow him off"

7. "I have to handle this SP and report him to Ethics Officer"

8. "I know what he's really trying to do! it's just like L. Ron explained in
the course!"

9. "boy, I'm really 'shattering suppression' with the tech from the course!"

All of these considerations and interpretations come from the "Ups and Downs"
course or the "PTS/SP" course. If you try to tell them that not everything in
those courses explains every situation, guess what they are going to think you
are? If you walk up to a staff member or a regular public member who has taken
one of those courses and try to tell them something negative about L. Ron
Hubbard or the church of scientology, even if you had a lot of evidence to
back up what you were saying, they would still think one or more of the above
9 things. At the very least, they will consider that you are trying to
"enturbulate" them. It won't matter whether it's true or not or how much you
can prove, they are going to think this way about you.
