L. Ron Hubbard admits he made a mistake and goofed:

Wasn't he supposed to have been perfect? A god like planet
builder? Master of the universe? Can God make mistakes?

In a series of lectures called "The First Postulate" given
between July 14th 1958 to August 15th 1958, he admits he goofed up.
The lecture where he admits to this goof was given on August 1st 1958,
called "Case Analysis - Rock Hunting (cont.)".In the lecture he
states: "Well, you take a person who is mired down totally in a Rock
and you run some Step 6, you half kill him, and some of us have been
through that. Now if you want to call such a thing a goof, it's a
goof. I'm responsible for it, I did it.". That statement by him is
also located on page 18 of part 3's transcript.

Image that, God making a mistake!

If L. Ron Hubbard could goof up on that, isn't it possible that
he could have goofed up on other things? What has he goofed up on that
he never admitted to or that we don't know about yet?

It's still exactly the same behavior as Truthy. Everyone can see what
his nonsense is all about. Even a newbie wouldn't be fooled for long.
You didn't just "go a little overboard," you drowned out the actual
discussions on a.r.s the same way the Truthtroll does. No different.
Regardless of your motives, you did half of his work for him today. His
stats are way up, thanks to you.

Contrary to currently 'popular' opinion, merely ignoring such entities
as Troughslurper (and Brick), Faxwhore, Spacetraveler, Barbara Schwarz,
Larry, Dorian, or even and possibly Simkatu is *not* a recipe for
'making them go away'.

If simpleminded 'craving attention' motives were all that were in
question, then 'ignoring' would be a fine answer. But, OSA (and not all
trolls are OSA) is perfectly capable of running ops with multiple
purposes, and, most frequently in the past 2 years has been a desire to
hijack the 'top of the page' on googlegroups. That's certainly not the
*only* 'win'.

To disrupt such efforts, all that's necessary is to post *anything* in
the flood, but, the strategy is to see such posts disrupting the page-
hijacking flow as themselves a 'win'.

And, they are.

Especially those posts that adopt the Scientology 'stats-thinking'
methodology, and attempt to 'out-produce' the 'Theta'.

Silly. Stupid. Counter-productive.

At the *same* time, there is nothing wrong with 'answering' one of the
noisebots, and sometimes they offer wonderful opportunities to reply.

Spacetraveler (and as far as I know Sten hasn't admitted to being
Spacey) offered both Warrior and Pope Charles wonderful opportunities to
both refute his claims and introduce *essential* information into 'the
permanent record' organically.

Had Bill *really* killfiled him; those 'effects' would possibly not have
happened.

Even Gerry did some good posts in re

It's a bit pointless to try to 'discuss' anything with TS, Brick or et
al nowday, since they're purely into repetition; and Dorian is long past
:)

Still... the problem is attempting to 'outproduce' the logorheatic.

There is *no* way to *stop* the 'Church' of Scientology from dumping
deliberate noise into ARS, as the 'Sporge' proved.

Nor is there any simple way to answer attempts to 'hijack' googlegroups
(and before it; AOL) first pages and highest rankings.

Sometimes 'rankings' are just rank.

The readers will see.

Yes, I agree; people who buy into the Scientology 'outproduce' concept
are themselves the problem.

But, there is no simple answer other than 'read what you want; answer
when you feel like it. Basta'

Nonsense. Does he seem frustrated? You didn't "spoil" any of his
threads, you just lengthened them. His purpose is to flood the ng with
bullshit to keep actual discussion about Scientology way down the page
on Google and give newcomers the impression that critics of Scientology
are batshit crazy. Your flooding accomplishes exactly the same purpose.
It doesn't matter if your content is 100% in agreement with his or 100%
opposed. The point is to drown out the real discussions.

I speak only for myself, of course. But I don't care one way or
another if the twits go away. They are in my kf; only my news
client is affected if they are still here. Unless someone like
Scarff or Simkatu decides to respond to every one of their posts.

Then I see one side of a flame thread I am not interested in seeing
any side of at all.

I think many of us are in agreement about this central concept,
regardless of philosophical differences about killfiling.

I sometimes find it difficult not to respond to these morons if I
see their posts at all. So I have configured my newsreader to
discard their headers before I see them. In this case, software
compensates for my acknowledged lack of self discipline. Others
(such as Android Cat) do not killfile them. But they don't respond
to them either.

When I suggest that people like Tory should killfile the spamming
morons, I make the suggestion because I am generally interestied in
reading her posts. But I don't care to see her responses to the
spamming morons.

The request is selfish, and I do know that.

Certain people have to learn that not just they have a right of freedom
of speech, but others too. However, as the "critics" and TS are
concerned, they are abusing that right by forging, libeling, defaming,
stalking and posting hate messages.
