What should have been a night of celebration would, instead, turn out to be a nightmare.

Penelope Santoro was celebrating. It was her best friend Kimberly's twenty-first birthday and they were determined to make it the night of their lives. When the tall dark stranger at the bar approached her, Penny couldn't take her eyes off of him. When Kimberly invited him to join the party, it seemed like her night was starting off right.

Tag Reynolds wasn’t celebrating. He had a job to do and wouldn't rest until it was completed. What he hadn’t expected was his next assignment. He'd spent years earning his boss' trust and felt like it was for nothing when he learned what was in store for him next.

When Tag and Penny's worlds collide, neither one expected the events that happened next. For fans of Twisted Desire, here is a peek into the night that changed everything.

4 stars!

"Stunning was the only word I could use to describe her. Absolutely, undeniably stunning. I was screwed."

This prequel to Twisted Desire was a fast paced and short read. Loved reading what was going on in the minds of Penny and Tag the night Penny was abducted. Most books simply skim through the events leading up to the abduction, so this book was a nice change of pace!

Totally worth reading if you have read Twisted Desire!

My review: This was a very cute novella that sets the back group up for you in regards to Penny's kidnapping. You get a little insight into what Penny was like before the kidnapping, as well as some insight into Tag's mind. If you didn't know the twist before hand, you would definitely know it based on this book and getting a look inside Tag's mind. So, I would definitely recommend reading Twisted Desire first. I also liked how it explained more of Tag's feelings before the kidnapping as well.

I really enjoyed this novella and still love Tag :)

"Our world is no place for someone like Penelope Santoro."

I loved Twisted Desire, so when I heard that Laura was writing a prequel, I was so excited! I was so happy to learn how everything went down before Penny was kidnapped.

This also just made my love for Tag Reynolds even more abundant. Even though he didn't want to do this aduction, he wasn't going to let Penny be harmed. He was determined to get her out of his boss, Roman's, hands. It's amazing that he felt a connection to her from the start.

You also see what Penny is like in day to day life. I was curious as to the kind of person she was without it being a scary situation. It let you see the way she was with her friends, especially Kimbery. That girl really is something else. One thing stayed the same...I still love Penny. She's a strong person and you want that in a female character.

I liked everythng about this novella. It was a perfect insight into the night that everything happened. From the time that Roman gave Tag the orders, to Derek wooing her in the club, and then the capture at the end. Great job, Laura!!!

Holy cow another hit out of the park for Laura Dunaway. This is the prequel to Twisted Desire. You meet Tag and Penny before what goes down on the boat.
Penny a college student in fashion design school has many friends. This one night will change her life forever. She has a best friend that gets kinda nasty to her and is jealous of her. She has a family that is close and they have money. She is shy but out going and sweet and beautiful girl. She meets Derek and what she thought was isn't.
Tag a bad/good guy is having trouble getting his head into the job. This is an odd off the wall job and he isn't really for it, but he doesn't want to cause trouble but something about this job is way different. He just doesn't get it. But does what he needs to. He is very antsy pacing and waiting. Some of the guys he isn't happy with. Great book. Loved the fast read and getting to know a bit before what happen on the boat.

I was given an ARC to leave an honest review.
We are given more detail into the night that changed Tag & Penny's life. You get POVs from them both, and what they were feeling & how they were interacting with everyone else that night. Tag was awesome, you saw him take charge of something he really didn't want to do, then once he had Penny in his arms, he'd do anything for her. Awesome job Laura Dunaway!!!!

I read this book after Twisted Desire and I'm really glad that I read it in that order. This was novella and it was able to bring to light some of the happenings of Twisted Desire. There was a lot of things brought to light in Twisted Desire and this did an excellent job answering questions you have had after reading the first book. I do hope that we will see Penny and Tag again.

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

"I clicked on the images section and waited for it to load.

Once it did, my heart literally seized in my chest. It felt like it stopped for one-second, then beat faster and faster, like I’d run a long race. It pounded as I clicked on one of the few pictures on the screen. Once that showed up, I zoomed in to look at her face.

Stunning was the only word I could use to describe her.

Absolutely undeniably stunning.

I was screwed.

I absolutely loved it."

I absolutely loved this book. The more Tag in my life, the better. I was so excited when I got my copy, I couldn't wait to dive in. I was dying to know what lead up to the point when Penny got kidnapped. I love details in the books I read. I love to know the when, where and why. This definitely did not disappoint. It answered all my questions.

Once again the dual POV was the best. We not only get to see and feel what Penny is going through, but we also get more insight into why Tag feels the way he does from the very beginning of Twisted Desire. Seriously, Tag was bad ass in this book. Total Alpha tendencies coming out from the first moment he sees a picture of Penny. As soon as he had a glimpse of her, all his plans changed, to wanting to get closer to her, and learn more about her. Sigh! I absolutely love that man. Now on to the unmentionables. I absolutely couldn't stand Rico. That man gets under my skin and not in a good way. He is a creeper to the max. Ugh. What I did like, was we get to learn more about the infamous Kimberly (what a B). Going into this book I wanted to learn a little bit more about her. And we do. Actions speak louder than words, and in her case completely true. Coming to the end of the book, it just made me want to go reread Twisted Desire. So many things make since now after reading it. This was an Amazing story that I believe should be read after Twisted Desire.

This Amazing Author, Laura Dunaway has a way with words. She makes you feel and brings you along for the ride like your in the story with characters. Hmmmm, what I wouldn't give to be in these books with Tag, hehe. I definitely recommend this book and of course Twisted Desire. If you love story's with Love, Humor, Drama, Heartbreak, and Suspense, you will love them, I know I did. Thank you Laura! Your books are Amazing, don't let anyone tell you differently. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

Now I wasn’t sure whether to read this book first or book one first. So I plumped for this one!

This wasn’t your usual kidnap story. Yes there was a cartel of bad guys kidnapping and holding a beautiful girl hostage, but this wasn’t a story of kidnapping into sexual slavery so that made a change.

This is the story of how the kidnap happened. A short read but the author packed so much in, that you could be forgiven for thinking this is a much longer book.

I felt like I was holding my breath waiting for something absolutely awful to happen to Penny. Usually the people who seem like a good guy, turn out to be not so good but I can honestly say that Tag was a hero and a white knight and he never faltered from that. His job was to guard Penny and keep her away from everyone else, to protect her and that’s what he did.

Roman was the boss giving the orders and while we didn’t know much about him, we knew that he was a man to be respected and feared. Rico was the character to watch. Ugly both inside and out and with a chip on his shoulder, he was the villain of the story, the unpredictable bad guy.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the author kept the suspense going til the end. I liked how Tag and penny were with each other. Their connection was a natural progression and it felt real. There was no Stockholm syndrome here.

I’m off to read book 1 now and I hope it’s as good as this one!!

I have not read Twisted Desire, but if you are interested in this pre-quel I would suggest you read that first. This novella was an "ok" read for me. It takes place over a couple of hours in which Penny is out celebrating a friends birthday and leads up to her kidnapping. Nothing really exciting happened IMO, but maybe it was because I have not read Twisted Desire. I felt it was unfair to give its rating so I am just leaving my honest opinion. Immediately after finishing this I did download a sample of TD and after that this novella has left me feeling confused. In TD Tag says he was not part of the kidnapping, that some other guy took Penny. In this novella though it is Tag who does the kidnapping. Maybe it is explained further into TD, but I do not have a desire to read it. I am not discouraging others to give this novella a try though, especially if you loved TWisted Desire.

Can one night change everything? A night that was full of celebration that quickly turns into a nightmare of events.

Penelope Santoro had plans to celebrate her friend Kimberly’s twenty-first birthday. They were determined to make it a night worth remembering. As a dark handsome stranger approaches her, she is drawn to him. When Kimberly invites him to join the party things start to heat up.

Tag Reynolds was not there to celebrate he had a job to do. He had a job to do and he can not rest until it is finished. Having spending years earning his boss trust but no idea his next assignment would but him through.

When the two collide neither lives will be ever be the same again. Tag and Penny are on the way to save the world and each other.

**Beta Reader**

I loved this little prequel novella. Even though I already felt like I knew Penny in a personal level, Laura did an excellent job writing Who Penny was before being kidnapped. I love that she conveyed the sweet and innocent person that I always felt Penny to be in Twisted Desire. Penny was your typical college student only just a tad more innocent but still had all the same urges. This book definitely helped to understand Tag also...pre kidnapping.

Laura Dunaway does a wonderful job bringing these two stories together to help understand everything in Twisted Desire a bit more.

This is a prequel to Twisted Desire. In this book we find out how she came to be on the yacht. We see that Kimberly her friend is a bitch even before hand and that Tag didn't really want to kidnap her in the first place. We get to find out the story of what happened before she wakes up, before she meets Tag. We get to find out how it all happened.
This is a great prequel to the story and I'm really glad that I got to read it I recommend reading this before the book itself as it helps along with the storyline.
