Dana Library Workshop Registration: 2013 Spring
Dana Library is offering the following workshops during Spring 2013:

a) statistical software packages: SPSS, Stata, and R
b) mapping Census data using ArcGIS, Social Explorer and PolicyMap
c) job hunting for graduate students
d) introduction to RefWorks

Each workshop is offered twice. To register, please provide your personal information and select the workshop sessions that you are planning to attend. You will get a reminder email before the workshop you have registered for is conducted.

Introduction to SPSS
This class is for students who are new to SPSS. Through hands-on exercises, students will become familiar with the SPSS interface and its basic functions of managing data, doing statistical analysis and generating graphs. Students will also learn to use syntax file to generate and save analyzing procedures.
Introduction to Stata
This class is for students who are new to Stata. Through hands-on exercises, students will become familiar with Stata interface and its basic functions of managing data, doing statistical analysis and generating graphs. Students will also learn to use Do-file Editor to write and save analyzing procedures.
Introduction to R
This class is for students who are new to R. Through hands-on exercises, students will become familiar with the R interface and its basic functions of managing data, doing statistical analysis and generating graphs.
Mapping Census Data
This workshop will teach students how to download Census data from American FactFinder and map the data using ArcGIS. Students will also learn to use PolicyMap and Social Explorer to extract data and create maps online.
Job Hunting For Graduate Students
This workshop will show you how to research the job market and prepare for interviews using our superior company and industry resources.
