What’s it about?
Fusion is known for wild licks and tension-filled lines, with players that bend well-established rules to their will. Josh Meader is such a player, and in this Masterclass, he breaks down the must-know facets of fusion, one level at a time.
In each chapter, you will encounter a different concept, taught by Josh in each level's introduction lesson. There’s a primer lick to ease into things, an improvised lick that shows you Josh’s natural approach, and a “challenge” lick designed to help you apply your new skills. For chapters five and ten you are met with a solo, each laced with Josh’s jazz-inspired flavours, eye-wateringly fast legato and smooth execution.
To cement the basics of each concept, you are also given exercises in chapters one to four, and six to ten. With additional backing track lessons and a PDF guide, this Masterclass scales up like the rungs of a ladder, giving you a clear path to the essential skills and knowledge of fusion.
What will I learn in each chapter?

Chapter 07 - Melodic Minor
Get to grips with melodic minor scale, an important staple of fusion that pushes things into new harmonic territory.
Chapter 08 - Tapping
Take a harmonic break and look at Govan-eqsue tapping which uses string skipping, chromaticism, and some more familiar pentatonics.
Chapter 09 - Side Slipping
Move an inside shape up and down in semitones to play tension-filled lines.
Chapter 10 - Solo 02
Technical prowess and wild harmonic approaches come together in a tidal wave of notes. A solo you can tackle over time.
