Service in the Swamp Sign-Up Sheet
Service in the Swamp is a great way for UF students to get involved in Gainesville. Our goals are to provide students with easy access to volunteer opportunities, the knowledge and resources to start their own service projects, and to help students develop their leadership through service. Students can also gain more leadership and organization skills by signing up to lead their own service project as a Service Leader! Service in the Swamp offers UF students opportunities to network with local non-profits, meet new people, and rack up some volunteer hours!

You will receive an email confirmation at least 48 hours before your shift. The shifts are first come, first serve. If you sign up though, expect to be at the shift unless we say otherwise. Double check the form before submitting to make sure you will be available those dates and times. If at any time you realize that you cannot come to the shift that you signed up for, please email serviceintheswampUF@gmail.com and let us know.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact serviceintheswampUF@gmail.com or stop the by the offices for the Center of Leadership and Service, 3rd floor of Peabody Hall on Tuesdays or Thursdays (for the summer).

Thank you for your interest and dedication to community service.  We look forward to working with you soon.

Service Opportunities for Summer B
Children's Home Society Thrift Store (CHSTS) - 710 N. Main Street ~ Gainesville, FL 32601
CHSTS is open to the community so everyone can find great deals, and the proceeds benefit the programs that serve our community's kids and families. Help sort and process donations, greet customers, operate the cash register and make sure the store is in tip-top shape! You can also help "shop" for clients, whether it's finding the perfect back-to-school outfit for a third grader or picking out books a family can read together. Please remember that you are serving as a representative of UF and CLS and you should dress appropriately and in closed-toe shoes.
Wilmot Gardens (on campus near Shands)
Wilmot Gardens is being restored to become a healing and meditation garden for patients, students, faculty and staff and the greater Gainesville community. Wilmot Gardens has enormous potential to become a place of physical and spiritual healing and beauty that is highly accessible to patients of UF and Shands and their families. Please come ready to work outdoors in landscaping.  We recommend wearing long-sleeve shirts, pants, closed-toe shoes, and baseball cap.  Also, please bring sunscreen and a reusable water bottle to keep yourself hyrdrated throughout the event.
Carpool
Do you have access to a car and are you willing to carpool other participants to the service site?
Volunteer Agreement
By checking the box below, I am committing to be at the designated place and time, dressed appropriately and ready to work. If I am unable to come, I will notify serviceintheswampUF@gmail.com immediately.
