Students of Color Leadership Retreat 2015
Thanks for your interest in the Students of Color Leadership Retreat! SOCLR is an intensive weekend of personal development, empowerment and community building for student leaders at Barnard and Columbia who identify as African/African-American/Black, Latino/Hispanic, Asian/Asian-American, Pacific Islander, Arab and Middle-Eastern, Native & Indigenous, and Multiethnic/Multiracial. Through fun, structured activities, guided exercises and dialogue, this experience will provide a platform to consider how you can affect change in the Barnard-Columbia community and beyond.

Retreat dates and times:
Friday, Nov.13th (Pre-departure lunch at 11:30am) through Sunday, Nov. 15th (We will return to campus by 5pm)
Retreat Location: Frost Valley YMCA Camp in Claryville, NY

Retreat Expectations and Non-Refundable Deposit
Please take a few minutes to read and review the following expectations that we have for all SOCLR participants. Your registration is not complete until you indicate whether you agree to adhere to these community standards for off-campus retreats.


As a retreat participant, I will:

Be present, both physically and mentally, during the entire SOCLR weekend.
Exhibit a willingness to learn about myself and others.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the opinions and ideas of others.
Refrain from bringing or using drugs/alcohol/illegal substances while on the retreat.
Participate in any SOCLR follow-up discussion/events on campus.

$10 Non-Refundable Deposit is required to confirm your participation in SOCLR 2015

The retreat committee would like to ensure that students who apply and are accepted to the retreat make the commitment to attend. When students drop, it takes opportunities away from other students who wanted to join us. Students who attend the retreat will receive their deposit back during the drive to camp.  Students who drop after confirming their attendance will not receive their $10 deposit back.
