Nominate an Outstanding Postdoc at Duke University
The Office of Postdoctoral Services proudly announces the eleventh annual Outstanding Postdoc Award. This award is designed to honor the achievements of Duke University postdocs, not only as outstanding researchers, but as advocates, teachers, and role models for their fellow postdocs and students.
Criteria for Award:
We expect that postdocs will be nominated primarily by their PIs; however, additional supporting nominations are encouraged.
In addition to describing the postdoc's research activities, the nomination should describe service, teaching, and mentoring activities. Please try to provide specific examples and stories.
Postdoctoral Associates and Postdoctoral Scholars are eligible for this award. Researchers in non-postdoctoral appointments (e.g., Research Associate Senior, Research Scientist, Visiting Scholar) are not eligible.
In order to be eligible for the award, the nominee must be in a Postdoctoral Associate or Postdoctoral Scholar appointment through January 31, 2017. The winner will receive an award of $1000, a plaque, and the official 2016 Outstanding Postdoc beer stein. Awards will be presented at 5 pm at Postdoctoberfest on Friday, October 7, on the back lawn of Blue Express/LSRC. Every postdoc who is nominated for the award will receive a congratulatory letter from the Office of Postdoctoral Services and the Duke University Postdoctoral Association.
Deadline for Nominations: 5 pm Wednesday September 14, 2016. NOTE: Past recipients are not eligible for the 2016 award.
