RSVP: Bias & Dis/ability in Education with Marlecia Autrey, M.A.
Thank you for your interest in attending OUSD's Culturally Responsive Practices Speaker Series!

Date: Thursday, May 9th
Time: Registration 4pm, Event 4:30-6:30pm
Location: Frick Middle School Library

This session will explore equity, inclusion, and bias as it relates to diverse learners, students with disabilities, and Oakland’s school communities.  Often, schools are siloed into general education and Special Education through mindsets of “othering,” but if we believe in equity and inclusion, we must see all of our students as “our” students.  We invite all OUSD staff, educators, and our communities to build greater understanding of dis/ability, ableism and disability justice, and their intersections with race and multiple identities, as we build inclusive schools where all students are valued, challenged, empowered, and supported to reach their full potential as part of our communities.
