NE GWiSE is an alliance between GWiSE groups from universities across New England. We are joining together to support and celebrate women and gender minorities in STEM fields, to increase awareness of the intersectional issues we face, and create change within our community. We support ideas and actions to increase diverse gender representation in STEM departments, create fair and positive workplace environments, increase the support and mentorship students receive, and enact equitable university and federal policies. Through advocacy, diversity, outreach efforts, and networking opportunities, NE GWiSE works to advance policies and programs across New England to promote equality and improve the experience of graduate students. Graduate students of all genders in the New England area are welcome to become NE GWiSE members and attend our events.
After a successful fourth year, we are moving into our fifth iteration of the NE GWiSE leadership team! You can learn more about our organization's work at
negwise.org. If you are interested in joining our leadership team, read through the position descriptions here (

NE GWiSE is a 501(c)(3) incorporated non-profit, and several positions, including Co-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, serve on our Board of Directors. We have monthly board meetings, which will be hosted virtually or at each of the member schools throughout the year. If you're not selected to be on the board but want to be involved, you can be an officer and help with events when they come up. Either way, we would love for you to be involved!
This application is due by May 31, 2021. The new co-chairs will contact you shortly afterward. Please email
