- A college girl goes skinny dipping. It is at night, but the silhouette of her bare breast is briefly seen. Her butt is seen. In the 4K remastered edition you can see her breasts and pubic region
Violence & Gore
- A man's severed head appears in the hull of a sunken boat. One of his eye sockets is empty. Quite gruesome.
- At the beginning, a teenage girl is attacked by a shark, and after a few disturbing screams, we see blood in the water.
- A grieving mother slaps a man whom she thinks is responsible for her child being attacked and killed by the shark.
- After Quint is devoured by the shark, whenever the creature appears, chunks of flesh can be seen stuck in its teeth.
- Quint smashes the radio with a bat after Brody attempts to call for help.
- A man is bitten in half by a shark. Not very graphic but lots of blood is shown.
- Quint slides into Jaws' mouth. Jaws chomps down on his waist and blood fills the water. There is a close up of him being chomped repeatedly as blood fills the water and wounds open up on his body. Blood erupts from his mouth and he is fully consumed by the shark. A large pool of blood is left in the water, and the shark's mouth is covered in blood.
- A man is dragged out of a rowboat by a shark. He is partially seen in its mouth as it bites down. This is somewhat obscured by the bubbles and water. His bloody severed leg is then seen sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Plenty of blood clouds the water.
- A boy is attacked while swimming. Blood spurts and bubbles everywhere, clouding the water in red.
- A shark is killed. It has blood all over its mouth. Later, its stomach is cut open and lots of white fluid spills out. A man pulls fish, a licence plate, and other items out as well.
- Quint tells some disturbing and violent stories about people who were killed by sharks. He speaks of them being ripped in half and torn to pieces.
- A shark's head is blown up. It is full of blood and chunks of flesh. The shark's head is blown to bits, and pieces of it fly everywhere and, along with its mangled corpse, sink to the bottom of the ocean.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- When Hooper goes diving down to Ben Gardner's destroyed boat, we get a jump scare when Ben Gardner's severed head floats out of the boat.
- Quint's death scene is very disturbing as he slides in the sharks mouth and the animal chomps down on him. He screams and gargles on his own blood with Chief Brody watching in horror.
- The scene in which the shark attacks the character Matt Hooper while hes in a cage under water is quite intense and includes a jump scare.
- This film has great intensity, and where Brody climbs up the sinking ship, the shark gets very close to him. This scene is extremely intense.
- At the start of the movie, Chrissie is eaten by the shark while skinny dipping. She is seen being pulled down by the shark a few times and jerked back and forth, until she is pulled under and never comes up.
- We see through the shark's eyes as he heads for a swimming boy and attacks him (very disturbing). Everyone runs out of the water, leaving the boy's mother alone at the water's edge, calling to her son. Very, very sad.
- There are several scenes of surprising fright - for example, a diver is examining a damaged boat and while looking into an underwater hole in the hull, a severed head appears.
- A man's dog goes missing, as he is playing with him on a crowded beach that is being monitored by beach patrol for a possible shark in the area. The man calls the dog repeatedly, only to see the stick the dog was playing fetch with, bobbing in the waves. It is assumed that the dog was consumed by the shark.
