Hoof 'n' Horn's spring show is Green Day's American Idiot, the critically acclaimed rock opera set in the mid 2000s American city. The show follows the lives of Johnny, Tunny, and Will as they struggle to find meaning in a post 9/11 world. The three disgruntled guys flee the constraints of their suburban hometown for the thrills of city life. However, their paths quickly become complicated: Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is remains at home to attend familial responsibilities, and Johnny's attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. Told exclusively through Green Day’s music, this high-energy show explores the dysphoria of coming of age in a world of hypocrisy, war, and George W. Bush.
