A lot of my patterns involve German Short Rows (GSR). Here's a brief description of how to do them: Knit (or purl) to where you want to turn. Keep (or move, if purling) working yarn to the back (WS if working RS, RS if working WS). Slip most recently-worked stitch purlwise to left needle. Swing working yarn to front, tightening the recently-slipped stitch. Turn work and begin next short-row. When reaching a tightened stitch, knit or purl both "legs" of stitch as one stitch.
