The Citizen Wish List Project
Democracy is an audience participation sport.
The Citizen Wish List Project is an effort to engage the citizenry body, wherever you may be, in a dialog about what we want, what's working and for sharing good ideas for improving quality of life.
The beautiful thing about democracy is that it is meant to represent the will of the people. It is flexible and adaptable and able to change according to the needs of our society.
The problem is, too few people are participating in the process.
Another serious problem is those serving in government and big business are too often not serving the needs of those they represent and the greater good, but themselves.
Perhaps you feel your voice will not be heard. Perhaps you feel there is nothing you can do to change things. Not true. Please choose to be part of a solution by sharing your wishes.
By choosing to participate in this social experiment you are empowering yourself and helping to create a better future for our children.
This is a non-political, all-inclusive and totally transparent conversation. All survey answers are anonymous and results will be publically available online.
HOW IT WORKS:
In 10-15 minutes you can answer 8 core subject questions and a few control questions in this first conversation starter.
Through a series of simple surveys we will begin a dialog centered on eight central themes which are common to all human beings.
The eight topics of discussion are FAMILY, EDUCATION, WORK, ENVIRONMENT, SECURITY, PR & The MEDIA, HEALTH CARE & MONEY.
We will discuss each theme in greater detail as the participants, that's YOU, share your ideas and provide feedback.
This is a long term project as these topics require an in-depth dialog to really find solutions to the portions of our governmental & societal relations which aren't quite right.
This project was launched at the opening of the first EVER 12-City TransEuropean Festival of Arts, Culture & Politics on May 6th, 2011.
The TransEuro Fest is managed by European Alternatives, a non-profit organization dedicated to Democracy, Equality, Culture Beyond the Nation State.
European Alternatives works on a continental level to find better solutions for many modern ailments.
Since launching the Citizen Wish List project a movement has started and several new countries in the Middle East have demonstrated for more democracy.
Let's help them define their paths to a better relationship with those governing and those governed.
The unprecedented level of support of this Occupy movement proves beyond a shadow of a doubt exactly the level of frustration so many are feeling worldwide.
This is exactly what the Citizen Wish List project intended to tap into. Help support the Occupy movement by formulating real ideas for solutions.
Participating in the protest is vitally important but at some point we need to be able to communicate concrete ideas for change. Let's be ready.
Together we can do this.
