Overview

Once we grow up and leave home, many of us become engrossed in our own lives. We sometimes forget about the people who dedicated their lives to us. How crazy is that? In particular, people are losing connections to their parents. While it is normal to become busy with life, we must remember to work hard to maintain strong ties to family, friends, and loved ones.
Manish Patel, physical therapist, lecturer, and author, tackles the subject of aging and caring for our parents. Wouldn’t it be great if we could love and care for them as they age with grace, knowing we are there for them as they were for us? Join Manish as he explores what it means to strive to be a good person and learn how to show love for another person. Parents help us blossom during our youth; let's help them blossom into their elder years. It is never too late to improve a relationship. It is never too late to love.
Second Childhood will inspire you to build stronger bonds with those who are near you. Our parents were there when we took our first steps. Shouldn’t we be there when they take their last ones?

About the Author

I consider myself to be an eternal student, as I love dialogue. I love listening to, and sharing with, patients (most are seniors), family, friends, and the people I have been fortunate enough to build relationships with in life. I do not think I have fully become the person I want to be, but I am on my way. My effort is genuine.

When I first talked about writing this book, people looked at me like I was crazy. So many thoughts ran through my mind, as a result of conversations with patients and friends, as well as my own journey of self-discovery. As I sat down, organized my thoughts, and forced myself to finish this book, I learned some great things along the way. I believe I am a better person today, because of it. I have grown as a son, husband, and father to my children.

If I could personally talk to each of you about the concepts in Second Childhood, I would gladly do so. However, since this is not possible, I set out to engage with you through this book.
