Regularly throughout the day, the LSASS.EXE process jumps from <2% CPU usage to 50-70% CPU, sometime for 30 seconds, sometimes as long as 30 minutes. I have a share setup on the server ... when clients access the share they notice a delay on access and browsing and I log high cpu usage by the dfssvc.exe and lsass.exe processes on the server. Whenever a clients accessed a network share it would cause a cpu spike on the server in the above processes. Multiply this by a few 100 clients and we were seeing 70% and higher cpu on a server that never normally went over 10%. I am having the same problem (lsass.exe and logonui.exe taking ~99 percent of the CPU usage). The problem is definately not a virus since the machine is secluded.
