Emergency: Help my family in Gaza

Donation protected
Update:
Because we reached our initial goal of €60,000, the women and children are now evacuated and safe in Cairo, soon to be followed by the children's father, uncles and grandfather.

Our family is in so much gratitude, there are no words. This would not be happening if it weren’t for the outpouring of generosity from all of you. We are opening up the fundraiser again for the next phase of recovery in Egypt. We will need to pay for living expenses while recovering in Egypt, as well as medical expenses for Afaf and her siblings and grandmother who have had complications while displaced.

We have also been supporting other displaced families near the Egyptian border with food and supplies. We want to leave them with as much as we can while some of us still remain in Gaza.

The funds you contribute will assist with the following:

  •  Initial Goal: Is now covering the expensive costs of safe passage into Egypt. Over half of the funds are being utilized for this. Estimated €60,000

  •  Direct Aid to 20 Gazan Families: With aid not being allowed into Gaza by Israel, my family is supporting 20 other displaced families near the border of Egypt with food. Estimated €5,000

  • Recovery in Egypt: Set up the family with a temporary place to stay in Egypt, while it is determined what the best path forward for them is. Estimated €16,000

  • Medical Expenses: Some family members became very ill during the siege, Afaf, baby Ayman, Hanan and their grandmother are in need of medical care.. Estimated €5,000

  • Rebuilding: Cover some of their initial living costs while in Egypt. Give the family room to start recovering from the trauma of the genocide. Estimated €32,000

More about the Aldaghma Family
Hello everyone I'm Mohammed Aldaghma. I come to you with an urgent plea to help me raise the funds needed to evacuate my family from Gaza. I left Gaza years ago, and have been supporting my family from Belgium. Thus I am the only member of my family with access to the outside world to advocate on their behalf.

We are especially worried about my 8 year old niece Afaf. Afaf has Down Syndrome, and for her that means she has many other health conditions like a vulnerable immune system, gastro-intestinal failures and her heightened sensitivities to her environment.
She is experiencing extreme panic and stress that her sensitive body cannot handle. We are worried that she will not survive. There are reports from Gaza of people with Down Syndrome going into cardiac arrest reacting to the extreme stress and fear of violence.

My family is currently living in a tent near the Egyptian border. With the ongoing bombing and violence we are in desperate need of collective support and generosity. We have lost everything. Please share my family's fundraiser with anyone you can.

 Thank you ❤️ Shokran
