PUTNAM COUNTY

Putnam school bus driver charged with having sex with student: A 36-year-old Putnam County school bus driver has been charged with six counts of having sex with a 17-year-old student.

Kiki Algeria Hamilton-White has been charged by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office with four counts of having unlawful sex with a minor. The Palatka Police Department has charged her with two additional counts.

Investigators said the incidents occurred in the two jurisdictions. Assistant Chief James Griffith said the encounters in the city occurred at a motel and a place near Hamilton-White's residence.

Hamilton-White was arrested after a Palatka High School student on Wednesday told a resource officer his friend was having sex with a driver and that he had witnessed one of the encounters.

The second student was questioned and investigators said several sexual encounters were discovered.

None apparently occurred on the bus or on school property. The names of the students were not released by the Sheriff's Office.

Hamilton-White, who is employed by the School District, has been placed on administrative leave with pay. She was released from the Putnam County jail on bail.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY

DUI charge against former Jacksonville police officer dropped: Drunk-driving charges against a Jacksonville police officer who resigned after his arrest in August have been dropped.

Michael Rolison was charged by the Florida Highway Patrol following a 2 a.m. collision on Aug. 23, 2011, in St. Johns County on Greenbriar Road. His westbound patrol car crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the front of another vehicle, according to investigators.

He resigned the day after his arrest.

The State Attorney's Office in St. Johns County dropped the DUI charge Wednesday, said spokeswoman Klare Ly.

A blood test did not show any intoxicants, she said.

"His blood draw came back with no alcohol or drugs in his system," she said. Ly did not know when prosecutors learned the results of the blood test.

Troopers said they smelled alcohol at the accident scene and after first refusing to provide a blood sample he was compelled to when he was met at the hospital by internal affairs investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Charges of DUI and DUI with property damage were dropped.
