Do not buy if you want to felt with it....
Reviewer: Molly, 1/10/08

Although this yarn is a Joy to work with, it does not felt. I used the light pink on a very big project and I could not get it to felt, no matter what I did. Great if you want it for a regular project, just not for felting.

Awesome yarn

I love this yarn. Although I am sad to think they may be discontinuing it since I cannot find it at the store anymore. I really hope they continue making it and selling it.

Lovely stuff - but probably on its way out
Reviewer: Anita, 9/19/07

This touchable all-wool yarn is on clearance at all my reachable Jo-Ann stores, so I'm afraid it IS being discontinued. Here on the website (only 3 colors are listed) because stores have the color I want. And again, to folks complaining about it not felting - manufacturer surely should have labeled it "superwash" or "machine washable" if superwash is protected. But Kellie is totally right, if you don't swatch and treat your swatch as you intend to treat your project (including felting), folks, you deserve exactly what you get (sorry!). And all wool *does* felt simply because it's wool, it's inherent in the structure, unless it is specifically treated to resist felting. Some fine ("high-quality") wools like Merino felt less well, but do felt

WONDERFUL!
Reviewer: Amber, 8/27/07

This yarn is amazing, high quality Italian superwash yarn. I've bought all I need for baby sweaters, shrugs, and blankets on sale, because the price is a bit steep. Nevertheless - I hope this yarn is not discontinued, as I've seen it on sale in all local JoAnn's.

Amazing yarn!
Reviewer: Poops, 8/16/07

I love this yarn. I love that it doesn't felt. I love that it's soft and squishy with great loft. I love that it's all natural fibers. It was a joy to work with. I do wish that it came in more than baby colors, and that the clearance price of 2.37 in the store was its regular price. 5.99 for 87 yards is not worth it, no matter how great the yarn.

Joann's does not care
Reviewer: KDC, 8/14/07

I bought this for felting, and as mentioned it does not felt. I went so far to contact Joann's to complain that they did not label the yarn as superwash wool, and was informed that they could not label it as superwash for some reason that seemed implausible, and that I should have known that it would not felt since it was baby yarn. And YET, no where is it marked baby yarn, it is not marketed as baby yarn, and there are no baby patterns to go with it. I went back and complained again and they wound up sending me a GC for the amount of the yarn in recompense.... But I do think that the group was surprised by the depth of my knowledge regarding fiber. I guess they think we are stupid.

surprised to find in a chain craft store!
Reviewer: Anonymous, 6/16/07

What a surprise! I would not expect this quality from a chain store. To the people complaining about it not felting: your first clue before even swatching was that it is made in Italy! The finest yarns are manufactured there. Not all wool will felt just because it is a wool.

This yarn does not felt well....
Reviewer: Lauren, 5/22/07

Loved the colors and the feel of this yarn, however, please be aware that it does not felt well at all. After eight trips through the washer, my project was limp and stitches were still very visible. Would be fine for many other knitted or crocheted projects, but Bellezza is not a good yarn for felted items.
