SD20 Spec

I am fitting my electrics and doing the analysis but need a bit of info on the standby alternator (SD20). Can anyone tell me what the current draw of the gen field is and also the draw for the LR3c voltage regulator.

I cant tell you what the gen field draws, but I can tell you that the LR Voltage regulator draws about 30mA.
I found that out the hard way.
For some inexplicable reason I wired the voltage sense to the battery buss.
Battery kept going flat if I left it for more than a week or two.
Not too difficult to rectify...

You need a 5 amp breaker. I do not know the exact draw.

I knew I needed a 5A breaker but I was trying to plan the maximum and sustained current draws in the event of a main buss failure and running just the ESS buss with the SD20.

I have figured out I can run all of my avionics (full IFR stack), Nav lights, one landing light and a fuel boost pump and not have the over current light flash. One thing to note: you need to ahve ~1400 RPM or better to get an adequate output on the SD20.
