I bought it from "WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTORS." I ordered it, then it shipped to my house. It's just that simple. It's a brand new Tab+phone from SAMSUNG. It's an international UNLOCKED Phone or GSM. Mine is in white/black. I'm in the US and I'm using T-MOBILE SIM-card. I can call, play, download APPs, listen to music and watch videos just like an iPhone. I think you pretty much know what it does. So, I'm here to tell you that it's a real Galaxy Tab + GSM phone with 7" screen from Samsung.

    It can be phone and tablet. Bluetooth connection never drop and it is good. Use it for almost year and never go down on me. Battery life is good. You can have talking for 6 hours, open WiFi and bluetooth connection and only charge once a day. The only thing not so good is size, but it is good for tablet.     The item was described as "Cell Phone - Internal Version" but that was not true. Days after seller sent the item to me, an e-mail came to me saying that it was not P1000 and not international version and thus no cell phone capability. When I responded to the seller that I want to return the item, seller graciously allowed me to send back and promised to refund. That was nice BUT I am not happy because I have to resend the item when I am busy with my next trip to the mMicronsian island nations. Thus I dinot send back the item to the seller. My point here is that seller should not make the wrong description (i.e., cell phone - internal version about the item in the first place. I strongly wish that there is a rule or condition at Amazon that sellers MUST post only correct descriptions NOT incorrect descriptions like this item.

    Luckily I have upgraded the item to higher version from the original Android 2.2 to 2.3 and thus cell phone capability was enabled after going thru a lot of trial and error on my part. BUT I really wish that Amazon make sure in future that descriptions must be correct and if not there should be some penality (not just refund by the seller should not be enough.) In future, before I buy anything I will make sure to ask the seller whether the item is truly as described or not.

    ok. i researched the galaxy tablet for about 2 weeks
    US models of the tablet DISABLE the calling feature on it. this was a foreign model. from germany i think. as it seemed ot be in german, and took me awhile to figure out how to change the language on the tablet.
    im no computer whiz, but no dummy either.
    i jsut tested the tablet...by poutting the sim card from my tmobile blackberry into it...and called my house. with success!!
    so this means the tablet will be a big cell phone when i go to europe soon. which i need. as i am a landlord and need to be reached if necessary.
    the tablet is unlocked...meaning i cna use any cell carrier as long as i have a sim card to put in the tablet.
    my blackberry uses tmobile...which works fine in the tablet as well. and, luckily...tmobile dominates in france and england as a carrier.
    i am thrilled.
    this costs a bit more...but is worth the price vs. dragging around this and a cell phone in europe...or other places when i travel.
    the wifi feature seems a bit weak. as we have wifi in the house but it doesnt pick up the signal well.
    the design is sli. light.
    getting used to the touchscreen. and have alot of manual to read
    but...so far...so thrilled with it

    I was so stoked to be able to get a device that provided everything I wanted: color screen, the right size, WiFi and 3g, SD card slot, front and rear cameras, an open and rootable OS, gaming abilities, eBook readers galore, calendars, PDAs.... The high price at the time was not a deterrent, and I jumped at the opportunity to have one device that provided for most of my needs.

    But what I found was that I never used it to read a full eBook, just start them and then get distracted by news articles, games, and everything else I could do with it. And I was never able to successfully use it as a PDA, beyond the basics, setting appointments and following a dictated schedule is just not for me (I just constantly swipe away all those reminders, without reading them).

    Eventually, I realized that although a 7" tablet is a great thing to have, the price was a little high at ~$700, and I'm very glad to be able to buy newer devices at about or less than half that price today; or course they often lack the rear camera, SD card slot, and/or cellular service. And I did use those things on the Galaxy Tab.

    It was a new gadget though, so despite the high cost, it still gets 4 stars for being a great gadget. But minus half a star because it was very expensive, and another because I still had to keep a kindle around to get any actual books read (not totally the devices fault, but still, having dedicated devices can be handy too).

    I received the item in German and no one could tell me how to set it back to English. After trying many Samsung numbers, and going in circles (Samsung customer cupport is APPALLING), I finally managed to set it in english to discover that I am stuck with several German application that I cannot delete. This was nowhere explained in the description.

    Second the audio jack is not working and the item has no warranty. This is simply ridiculous

    Vorwort:
    Eigentlich sollte es ein Ipad werden, doch bei den Neupreisen, die selbst für das 1er zu entrichten waren, schaute ich mich schnell nach Alternativen um. Ich landete schließlich beim Samsung Galaxy Tab, war aber zunächst unsicher, ob mir 7 Zoll wirklich reichen sollten. Aber nach all den positiven Rezensionen hier und einem sehr überzeugenden Produkttest bei Youtube habe ich mich dann für den Kauf entschlossen.

    Was mache ich damit?
    Ich habe das Galaxy Tab nun knapp über zwei Monate und es begleitet mich seitdem täglich. Die 7 Zoll sind für unterwegs perfekt. Das Display ist einfach Top, das Gewicht sehr angenehm zu halten und das Android ist intuitiv zu bedienen. Durch zusätzliche, meist kostenlose Apps, ist das Tab mittlerweile mein mobiler Fahrkartenautomat inkl. stets aktueller Reiseauskunft, ich bearbeite damit meine Emails, schreibe in Internetforen, lese Bücher aus dem Kindle-Shop, höre damit MP3s, schaue mal ein Video oder spiele mal ein Spiel. Alles ist möglich und das mit einer Performance, welche man diesem kleinen Gerät niemals zutrauen würde.

    Verarbeitung:
    Die Verarbeitung des Gerätes ist sehr gut. Wie bereits geschrieben, ist das Display sehr gut. Das Bild ist scharf, die Farben leuchtend, aber nicht übersättigt und bei voller Helligkeit auch im Freien sehr gut nutzbar. Der Klang der kleinen Lautsprecher ist überraschend gut, das mitgelieferte Headset ist ebenfalls von guter Qualität. Insgesamt macht das Tab einen stabilen Eindruck.

    Akkulaufzeit:
    Die Akkulaufzeit ist nicht schlecht, könnte aber ein wenig besser sein. Bei mäßiger Benutzung ist nach 2 1/2 Tagen ein Aufladen erforderlich, bei intensiverer Nutzung durchaus auch bereits nach 24 Stunden. Jedoch erscheint für das Tab in Kürze ein Update auf Android 2.3.3, welches die Akkulaufzeit verbessern soll. Außerdem auch die Performance, was man kaum noch glauben mag, denn sie ist ja, wie bereits geschrieben, wirklich jetzt schon sehr gut.

    Speicher:
    Ich habe die 16 GB Variante des Tabs und mit einer microSD-Card auf 32 GB Speicher erweitert. Das Überspielen der Daten geht am einfachsten über den Massenspeicher-Modus, dann kann man im Windows-Explorer die Daten einfach rüberkopieren. Idealerweise erscheinen bei eingesteckter SD-Card zwei zusätzliche Laufwerke, nämlich einmal für die internen 16 GB und die externen 16 GB. Das Tab kann aber auch mit einer 32 GB microSD-Card auf 48 GB erweitert werden.

    Streaming:
    Wer einen Streamingserver betreibt, kann die gestreamten Medien natürlich auch übers Tab genießen. Entweder mit der vorinstallierten App "AllShare" oder der kostenlosen App "UPnPlay" aus dem Android Market. Umgekehrt kann das Tab auch als Streamingserver dienen.

    Fazit:
    Das Gerät erfüllt seinen Zweck absolut tadellos. In den knapp über zwei Monaten gab es vielleicht drei Abstürze, nach einem Neustart lief aber alles wieder korrekt. Für den Preis erhält man ein Gerät, welches viel Freude bereitet Unterwegs für Kurzweil sorgt. Aber auch zuhause auf der Couch hat man jede Menge Spaß damit.

    Aus diesem Grund ohne Wenn und Aber von mir 5 Sterne!

    Gros téléphone sous androïd, qui entre dans ma poche de veste ou dans mon petit sac contrairement à son concurrent.
    -seul défaut (qui ne gêne pas) est le haut-parleur qui est plutôt moyen.
    -je ne peux rien dire sur la visio car je n'ai personne à appeler ! il faudrait de la visio à l'autre bout.
    -La téléphonie est bien avec le kit main-libre, sinon c'est avec le haut-parleur (ce qui n'est pas très discret).
    -Internet est fluide, le Tab est puissant.
    -mails lisibles grâce au format, c'est mieux que mon "petit" téléphone (google nexus one). Ce serait encore mieux avec un écran plus grand, mais il ne rentrerait plus dans ma poche. Je peux même lire les pièces jointes (doc, xls ou pdf), ce qui est difficile avec le téléphone.
    -Bon MP3 (avec un casque bien sûr)
    -très bien pour regarder des films.
    -Bonne tenue de la batterie = 3 ou 4 films sans recharger.
    Après plusieurs mois d'utilisation, je reste très content de mon achat.

    Erster Eindruck:
    Zunächst überraschte mich das "Handy" durch noch besseres Design, als erwartet. Das Teil sieht zunächst einfach super schick aus! Aber das mag ja nichts heissen.
    Eigentlich habe ich es für meine Frau gekauft, und merkte beim Einlegen der SIM Karte und der separat gekauften 32 GByte Karte, dass man dafür auch längere Frauen-Fingernägel braucht. Aber das macht man ja eigentlich nur einmal.

    Display, Tastatur:
    Nach dem Aufladen, eingeschaltet, tolles Display, eingestellt ... WLAN, Google, n-tv livestream etc. ohne Probleme.
    Es ist endlich ein Handy, welches ich mit meinen dicken Fingern ohne Schwierigkeiten tippen kann. Umschalten von Hoch- auf Querformat einwandfrei, und man tippt dann bald wie auf einer großen Tastatur! Das Display ist super, die Internetseiten bauen sich schnell auf. Multitouch geht sauber und sanft. Bis zu 9 homescreens kann man individuell festlegen.
    Auch ausgefallene Fonts (wie Thai ) werden angezeigt, und mit Anysoftkey kann man auch in solchen Schriften emails und sms schreiben.
    Einzoomen auszoomen .. sanft und super!

    Größe:
    Das Samsung Galaxy Tab ist größer als von mir erwartet, aber nicht zu groß, aber gerade doch so groß, dass man wenigstens im Internet auch surfen kann, und die Seiten zumindest sieht man ganz (anders als bei einem selbst 3,7 Zoll Smartphone). Durch Adobe Flash kann man nun auch alle Internetseiteninhalte betrachten!
    Ebooks lesen ist auch angenehm möglich, obwohl nur 1 ebook dabei ist, und die Auswahl ansonsten ziemlich mager ist. - Ich nehme aber gerne Dokumente als PDF Dateien mit, auch die kann man nun richtig schön durchblättern und lesen!
    Statt einem kleinem Laptop - wie bisher - werde ich sicher auf meine nächste Auslandsreise dieses Teil mitnehmen! Bei der Größe nun auch besser als Navi im Ausland zu benutzen!
    GPS (für mich sehr wichtig) - zeigt Ort so genau wie es momentan möglich ist - an!

    Android ist für mich nach HTC Hero und Motorola Milestone eigentlich nichts neues, aber bei der Größe macht Google-Maps, Google-Earth und auch das Email-lesen und schreiben, Twittern sowie im Internet browsen erst richtig Spass. Nur einige Spiele sind auf die Größe nicht eingestellt und weisen einen schwarzen Rand auf.

    Das Teil dürfte nicht größer sein, und auch nicht kleiner, meines Erachtens absolut die richtige Größe!!

    Kamera:
    Dachte zunächst 3,2 Megapixel Kamera Auflösung ist etwas mager (könnte bei dem großen Ding ruhig mehr sein), macht aber bessere Bilder als erwartet. Und man kann Bilder angenehm jemanden - quasi im Postkartenformat - zeigen.
    Videotelefonate kann man durch die 2. Frontkamera damit auch, z. B. auch über VOIP mit Fring, von Fring zu Fring ! Die neue App von Skype ist bisher noch absolut ungeeignet.
    Musikvideos auf großem Display betrachten - mit sogar gutem Klang - war auch eine positive Überraschung.

    Fazit:
    Eigentlich wollte ich mir demnächst das HTC Desire HD mit 4,3 Zoll Display kaufen, aber nachdem ich dieses große Display in der Hand hatte, überlege ich mir evtl. nochmals das Samsung Galaxy Tab zu kaufen, zumal ich mit Samsung immer gut gefahren bin. Mein Zweitphone Samsung i8910HD war z. B. - und ist immer noch super - aber leider "nur" Symbian.

    Über den Preis wird viel geschimpft - er ist ja schon sehr kräftig gefallen -, aber für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis mit toller Auflösung, Flash, Telefon, 2 Kameras, guter Verarbeitung, meines Erachtens ein Preis den ich nicht bereut habe!

    Ipad:
    Warum Vergleiche mit dem ipad angestellt werden ist nicht verständlich, das Samsung Galaxy ist ein Telefon, das ipad nicht, und das Ipad hat auch keine Kameras und kein Flash!

    Empfang:
    Der Empfang des Samsung Galaxy Tab ist überraschend gut, sogar deutlich besser als mein Motorola Milestone oder HTC Hero bzw. Samsung i8910! Hatte nie ein Handy mit besserem Empfang auch bei schwachem Signal!

    Nachteile:
    Einschränkung beim telefonieren selbst! Wenn man nicht jeden über den Lautsprecher mithören lassen möchte, geht es eben am besten mit dem mitgelieferten Stereoset, oder einem Bluetooth Headset.
    Akku kann nicht gewechselt werden, könnte für längere Flugreise sinnvoll sein!

    Akku:
    Akku hält erstaunlich lange (zumindest bei Nutzung einen ganzen Tag), das Aufladen mit 220V braucht einige Stunden, was erträglich ist (12 V im Auto dauert aber doch deutlich länger).
    Zum Datenroaming, was hier angefragt wurde, habe es im Ausland ausprobiert, kann - wie bei meisten Android - ausgestellt werden und bucht sich dann nicht ein, sondern zeigt ein rotes Dreieck und eine Meldung, dass das Datenroaming ausgestellt ist.

    Stabilität:
    Noch was: Das Teil ist jetzt seit 5 Tagen permanent in Nutzung, ständig Telefon, Spiele und Youtube, Download von Videos, Surfen auf allen möglichen Seiten, Navigation, Fotos gemacht, Filme gemacht etc..! - Es ist mir bisher noch nicht gelungen, dass das Teil einmal "hängen bleibt" oder abstürzt.

    Datenflatrate:
    Berücksichtigen sollte man jedoch: In den paar Tagen sind über 200 MB Daten geflossen, also wenn man es kauft und viel nutzen wird (und es reizt gerade dazu) dann sollte man eine Datenflatrate mit deutlich über 300 MB/Monat haben (habe z. B. o2on mit 5GB).
