About the Author

Tracey C. Vlahovic, DPM, is currently an Associate Professor and J. Stanley and Pearl Landau Faculty Fellow at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM) in Philadelphia. She is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Vlahovic graduated from Yale University and received her medical degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. After finishing her podiatric surgical residency at St Luke’s University Health Network in Allentown, Pa., she was the first podiatrist in the United States to complete a fellowship in podiatric dermatology under the supervision of Stephen Schleicher, MD.
Dr. Vlahovic currently teaches the Fundamentals of Dermatology course at TUSPM. She has lectured across the U.S., received numerous teaching awards, authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is involved in multiple clinical research trials for various dermatological therapies and devices.

Stephen M. Schleicher, MD, has over 20 years of experience in the field of dermatology. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Commonwealth Medical College, an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical College, and a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at King’s College. Dr. Schleicher founded the DermDOX Center for Teledermatology (dermdox.org) and is on the staff of Reading Dermatology Associates. Dr. Schleicher currently supervises the only podiatry-dermatology fellowship in the United States under the aegis of the American Podiatric Medical Association and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
The author of three books and over 100 journal articles, Dr. Schleicher serves on the editorial board of Emergency Medicine magazine and his columns are viewed on a monthly basis by thousands of medical practitioners. A pioneer in the field of teledermatology, Dr. Schleicher was named a ComputerWorld Honors Laureate in 2011. This was an international competition recognizing “men and women whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social, economic and educational change.”
Dr. Schleicher graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University, received his medical degree with academic honors from the Hahnemann Medical College and completed his dermatology residency at the Temple Skin and Cancer Hospital.
