CHIEFTAIN MAIN BATTLE TANK Mk10

The mainstay of the British Army from the 70's right up until the mid-90's the Chieftain is a true main battle tank, weighing in at 56 tonnes!  This is a Mk10 which includes the extra 'Stillbrew' armour and battlefield illuminating searchlight.

With a 750hp multifuel engine and gun that was the envy of the world in its time, you couldn't wish for a bigger boys toy!

This vehicle has lots of great features:

• recently fitted factory reconditioned engine
• recently fitted reconditioned gearbox
• new auxiliary engine and generator
• recently fitted new suspension unit
• two new final drive units
• excellent tracks, sprockets and wheels

She starts on the button, stops and steers beautifully. This vehicle is only being sold because we're swopping over to Eastern Bloc vehicles and so is no longer needed. Viewing recommended.

As with any vehicle of this age there are a few not so good bits. The fuel system has been bypassed due to a leak which is under the engine, hence the barrel on the rear. This will be an easy fix once the engine has been lifted out - we just don't have the time (or a crane big enough to get to it). She also needs 4 new batteries which I'd be happy to supply at the time of sale but there's no point fitting them whilst she's not being used regularly. The hydraulic start works a treat (which is rare)!
