TMZ reports that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is facing three misdemeanor charges in California following his late January DUI arrest. Quote below edited to take out their pointless ellipses and to change numbers to the words for those numbers.

TMZ has learned the L.A. City Attorney has decided to hit Chavez with three misdemeanor charges, two for drunk driving and one for driving without a valid license.

If convicted on all counts, JCC could face up to a year in county jail and a $1,000 fine.

He's due back in court to face the judge later this month.

No word has yet come down on how the WBC plans to discipline Chavez for endangering the lives of others and breaking the law and all that, because surely if Dereck Chisora can be banned forever and soon fined heavily for acting like a jerk, then the WBC definitely will take action here, right? Right? Right? Right? I mean, they definitely don't have to wait for a court to make a decision or anything like that, and surely these charges are worse than spitting water at someone, right? Right? Right?

Maybe this will all be too much for Don Jose, and he'll again "retire."
