These will do... but barely.

These will do... but barely.
I can go through at least ten of these and still save money instead of buying one at AT&T's absurd marked-up price. These will work, but are borderline as to how well or how long they will last. So far I was not impressed with shipping and packaging. Let's hope the product quality exceeds expectation. I may add more to this review in a few weeks once these have been out in the field for a while.

Not really sure what a lot of people were expecting with a $1 case. It is just a cheap replica of the apple bumper. But it lasted me 4 months, and for a $1 case that is more than what i expected. Now i just by 2 of them, so i can switch it out once it gets bad and get another one. You could buy one of these every month and still spend less than half what you would pay for an apple one. Great product for the price.

I have owned the Apple OEM bumper as well as this one. This one is much snugger, it does not come on and off as easy as the Apple one, it is more permanent. That can be a pro or a con (much less flex off the sides of the iPhone). The buttons aren't quite as responsive as the Apple bumper... but work great and I have not had any response issues. The rubber that goes over the face and back is not as wide as the apple one, but is still nice and grippy. Someone complained about the charger not fitting, that is an issue with Apple OEM bumpers and this one, but only for older style charger heads and not the newer ones that are not as long. All in all, can't go wrong for this price!

I broke my official overpriced Apple-made bumper and was loathe to spend $30 on a replacement. (I got the first one for free as a fix for the 4G reception problems when you "hold it wrong".) So, reading the reviews I took on chance on this, making sure that I purchased from TAPP. Since they are fulfilled by Amazon, I got my "fake bumper" in two days with free shipping, so it was more than worth it to pay a bit extra (not to mention the apparent fact that many of the other sellers are Hong Kong-based scams selling knock-off knock-offs).

I'm happy to report that this bumper case is just as good as the original. In fact, it even fits more snugly than Apple's. I'm not sure the buttons are really metal, or just painted plastic, but it's a minor issue. Everything works well, and it's very hard to tell the difference between this and my old one from Apple.

Taking these on and off repeatedly leads to the rubber becoming cracked and stretched, which was the cause of my Apple bumper going bad. However, now that I've found a supply of these for low cost, I'm not so worried about taking it on and off when I need to use a non-standard charger.

Good product for the price.

It is a bit tougher material than I would have liked but for the price no complaints. It has a good fit over the power button and plenty of extra space around the headphone jack. I do not have any problem plugging in my original apple power adapter either. I have taken it off a few times and placed it back on and it is not too difficult. One minor issue would be the use of the power button. It is somewhat difficult to press it if not using your nail. You have to apply quite a bit of pressure but I think one could easily become accustomed to doing so. Also my volume buttons are not cut out as shown in the product description but I think that could easily be taken care of with an exacto knife if I really felt it to be necessary. As for right now using the volume buttons is the same way as the power button. Not too difficult using it with nails but without it is difficult.

I purchased this because I was getting bored with my old cases and wanted to feel the phone in a little more natural state as Apple intended for the last few months of having the phone, but still protect it to an extent. I purchased the Apple bumper to test the concept, and liked it, but returned it after a few days because of the ridiculous price tag. I purchased the bumper from TAPP COLLECTIONS based on prior reviews, and it is a nearly perfect knock-off of the Apple bumper. The craftsmanship is a little less sharp and wouldn't be up to Apple standards, as far as seams, the evenness of the rubber, etc, but all the main characteristics are there. Metallic power & volume buttons, cutouts for the speakers, headphone jack, noise cancelling mic, & vibrate toggle. Please note the vibrate toggle is perfectly centered in the hole on my iPhone 4, so would probably be up toward the top edge of the cutout on the 4s. My biggest problems with this case are the size of the headphone jack doesn't accommodate a couple of my sets of headphones, so I have to peel the case off the corner to use them, and same for my car charging accessory...it doesn't fit the USB jack (the Apple power cords that come with the phone do fit). Aside from the inconvenience, it's probably bad for the case & stretching out the rubber, but I knew this going into it. Otherwise, I think it would protect the phone well for about any drop, because it is raised a couple of millimeters all the way around, so your phone never actually touches a surface when it's sitting, and the rubber is nice and thick so should help absorb a drop. For $7, I'm very very happy, and love the look & feel of my phone with the case.

I am now Happy Mike!!
Great product, got great deal from new Amazon seller Efox.
Most bumper have cutout at the sound and power area, which makes it hard to get to. However this bumper is designed with extender buttons on volume and power, no button for the mute since that is a switch so it is a cutout. These button feels solid, and I have no problem with it. The bumper itself is made of plastic/rubber compound, so it will take some abuse. This would be great for people who drops their phones, but since I have yet to drop a phone that would require this sort of protection for me I wished it was a bit thinner. But since I got such a great deal from Efox seller, I am not complaining.

Please note:
If you use the USB cord and plug directly to the phone, you should use the one that came with the phone. The OEM thin slim ones that fit perfectly into the cutout of the bumper, if you use generic one or the aftermarket cord it may not work with this bumper. So please keep that in mind.

... or you can spend $30 on an "official" bumper case from the Apple store. I bought 5 of them, and when they break I just throw away the old and put on the new one. You're going to get what you pay for. Make no mistake, this is a cheap Chinese knock off. But it does what it's supposed to and at a fraction of the price of what you may get at the Apple store.
