Roux O'Kane [District Five]

Roux O'Kane is a short, thin boy who looks fragile and incapable of defending himself. Yet his dark brown eyes give off a menacing aura that say otherwise. His long black hair curls down to his shoulders in a scrappy fashion. His face is otherwise featureless, no defining scars or marks. Just his expression, which is usually a frown or a glare. His skin is an unhealthy white, developed from lack of nutrition.

Despite his dark, banshee-like appearance, Roux can wear some pretty ordinary clothing. He usually wears a long-sleeved white t-shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. This is accompanied by work slacks or jeans, and of course a pair of plain boots. He takes a shoulder bag with him most places, to store general items such as odd-food, a water can and money.

Roux doesn't care much for the opinion of others, whether it be on his appearance or his general personality, the only person he lives to please is himself. Because of this, he can often come out with brash, harsh statements, often offending without meaning to. This leads him to be somewhat unpopular, despite a somewhat natural likability.

Roux has a snake-like charm that can often help him to get his way. At times, he can be quite cunning and manipulative, but not maliciously. This sly attitude can sometimes lead him to be somewhat of a rat. He likes being 'one up' on people, as in having something he can use against them if he needs to.

Despite a dark and somewhat chilling appearance, Roux can be quite tame. He enjoys some sport, being the best long distance runner at his school. Other sports that require more power he dislikes, as he is weak muscularly.

Roux enjoys cooking (When he can), especially if he has herbs and spices at his disposal. He can be quite experimental when it comes to making rice taste better. He dislikes not being in control of situations and can be quite possessive of people.

Roux was born the first child to Franq and Iverness O'Kane. Despite his mother's bright ginger hair and his father's shocking blonde hair, Roux developed a very dark mop of hair from an early age. This was usual, unseen in both families generations. So, Franq O'Kane proceeded to hunt down and beat the living hell out of Lund McCarthy, a childhood friend of Iverness', who had a dark mess of hair not to dissimilar to baby Roux's.

Roux grew up pretty quickly, having to work from an early age to put money into the family pot. A chimney sweep, the perfect job for a small boy. A lax, lazy attitude led Roux to be fired from his job at the age of seven, leaving him with just school. Even in school Roux was lazy, failing classes frequently.

When Roux turned thirteen, he was told that his parents were unsure on who his father was. The situation was explained to him carefully. This didn't exactly help Roux's attitudes towards work. Roux was more interesting in why he hadn't been told earlier than who his actual father was, and since has damaged his relationship with his parents.

In the year that followed, Roux has avoided direct contact with Lund McCarthy, despite several attempts of Lund contacting him. Despite acting like he doesn't care, deep down, Roux wants to piece together the puzzle of his past and find out what happened all those years ago.
