Hyundai Getz 1.1: 'Getz' Better Than Ever?
The weirdly named Getz was presumably christened so that Hyundai could use the toe-curling line "As Good As It Getz" – advertising slogan.

According to "sources" Korean cars have had a similar effect as the craze with Korean dramas and manufacturers like Hyundai and its Kia subsidiary enjoy a firm grip on the entry level end of the market.
How true is that? Well... I own a Getz, and am quite please, in case you're wondering.
Hyundai Getz 1.1
Engine Type: 1,086cc, 12V, In-Line 4
Max Power: 62bhp at 5,500rpm
Max Torque: 94Nm at 3,250rpm
Gearbox: 5-speed manual
Top speed: 148km/h
0-100km/h: 16.1 seconds
Here's some "history":
The Getz has been around since 2002 and Hyundai has just given its popular compact hatchback a cosmetic face-lift and two new engines to keep the car's appeal fresh.
Despite the face-lift claim, I couldn't really spot any real difference with the old one. But Hyundai sees profound changes.
"The front end of the car has been given a fully integrated treatment with a redesigned bonnet and even stronger character lines that add visual emphasis to the grille, headlights and front bumper section. The wrap-around clear glass headlamps, black bumper inserts and front spoiler with neatly integrated fog lights (CDX models) give a clean and sporty appearance. This effect is further enhanced in subtle details such as the neater arrangement of the wipers and the way in which the bonnet character lines flow towards the A pillars," said Hyundai.
Believe me, the change is secondary, you won't really notice the difference.
The overall effect?
The interior architecture is pretty minimalist but that's not a bad thing is it? Everything looks and feels solidly put together, which is par for the course for Hyundai these days.
The whole dashboard is slightly angled towards the driver, which hints that a spirited drive is in store, and the center console has had a matte soft-touch finish applied to it.
Not too bad for a low budget vehicle I would say.
The new 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine that's been added to the Getz line-up doesn't seem like much on paper, only mustering 65bhp and 99Nm of torque.
Here's something worth taking note of.
It's quiet and apparently smooth!
But you can't help but wish for a bit more grunt, who wouldn't eh? Still it's the 1.1 version, only.

Anyway do u have this problem of people tailgating u like crazy when driving your getz? I get that all the time.
Aha! I'm driving a Getz myself, which I call Lizzy. Mine is a 1.4 A. Its a pretty nice and nimble car, though I could hardly keep up in keeping the white exterior clean. drop me a mail ya.. see ya
Your Getz is emblazoned hot rod red, and looks really sexy - should stand the test of time thus prob why Hyundai didn't wanna mess with a design formula tt worked.
