Hallie has no intention of cooperating and losing her hard-won freedom. Even for a dark-haired hunk with a hey-baby smile. Hallie's brass and her sass are tempting, but Quade doesn't intend to lose the pardon the Admiral has promised him -- or his life.

Even with help from Arnie Stockton, Hallie's father, a former naval commander with his own score to settle with the Admiral, Conan captures Hallie and Quade and delivers them to his employer. A beautiful and maniacal Eurasian revolutionary, the Admiral's former lover, who leaves them trapped on an island surrounded by sharks and planted with high-explosive bombs.

The only thing more dangerous for Hallie and Quade than trying to outfox Conan and find a way off Shark Island before the bombs detonate at midnight, is keeping their hands off each other...and learning to trust their hearts.

    I enjoyed Lynn Michaels "The Patriot." It's a definite page turner. Hallie Stockton plays for high stakes to live her own life, but it's filled with lies and deceptions. This is a romance, but so much more.

    I recommend "The Patriot". Is Hallie the cat or the mouse?

    Choose your side, fasten your seatbelt. This is definitely a thrill ride you don't want to miss!

    There is a reason this book is on my keeper shelf! Take Ellison Quade, a tough guy who played by the rules until he was betrayed and have him fall in love with the one woman who could give him back everything he lost--if he just betrays her. Hallie Stockton just wants to move forward with her life and finds herself falling in love with the one man who can drag her back into a nightmare. Add a liberal dose of action and adventure and you have a book guaranteed to keep you turning the pages. That said, I should probably tell you not to read this book while cooking dinner--you will burn the pork chops!

    I loved this book when it first came out and now I have it for my ereader!

    Lynn Michaels knows how to create characters you adore. Especially incredible heroes.

    Read this book many, many years ago and loved it. Got to read it again and it held up. The writing is excellent, characters are smart and engaging and the story is edge-of-your-seat fun!
