I know it has been another couple of weeks since I have posted any new tunes, but I ran into some technical difficulties with my rig. I have everything resolved and I'm able to record again, so I'm back with a couple of new mixes for you!
The first mix starts out dark and funky with "Dirty Mary (My Name Is)" by Dj's from Mars and a killer track from Annick (remixed by Radikal Dj's.) Peter Presta takes it back a few years with the classic "Whores in this House" sample, followed by the gritty Gameboy/Gamegirl track "I Get-- in the Club." The rest of the 1/2 hour mix features 2 great pop covers, some vibey electro, and a little more tribal for good measure.
The second mix I've put together consists entirely of tracks released in the past week. Terry Lynn starts us off nice and grimy with his tunes "Kingstonlogic" & "Stone (OGM2 Mix)." The next track, "Sveglia" by Crookers is shaping up to be one of my favorite tunes of the summer. "Sveglia" features the infamous "Woo! Yeah!" sample - you all know it - hell, own enough tracks with that sample I could probably do a whole set. It also has an organ riff that reminds me of Halloween but I can't seem to find the name of the original song. (If anyone knows, please leave a comment- its driving me crazy!) The piece de resistance of this 40 minute mix is King of Beats by Shelltoe Allstars - probably one of the funkiest breakdowns I've heard in a long time.
This Friday also marks the 2 month anniversary for the relaunch of this site and I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU!
Since June 1st I've had almost 1,500 visitors from 70 different countries. Regardless of who they are or where they're from, just knowing that people are out there and listening make this site worth having.
This mix starts out a bit techy & deep with a couple of tracks from Warehouse Music's Lee Mortimer. It falls into a nice disco groove courtesy of the Stereo MCs' Soul Groove and then Doit@thedisco & Deadly Sound bring the set to the electro side with banging electro riffs and dark basslines. To round things out I drop three darky funky, tracks from Wearhouse Music: Mad Run, Sonic Chronic (Lee Mortimer Remix) & Tech Buddy. Topped off with a killer breaks remix of My Perogative (yes, Bobby Brown's) called Do What I want (Keith MacKenzie & Fixx Remix) by Breakdown on Illeven Eleven.
