Motorcyclist killed in Wimberley accident ID’d
A 58-year-old Wimberley motorcyclist who died Sunday after hitting a bicyclist has been identified as Ernest Hubert Kirchner.
Kirchner and Evan Carl Kaye, 20, who was on a bicycle, collided at 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Old Oaks Ranch Road and Brunson Lane, according to DPS.
Kaye was making a wide right turn onto Brunson when Kirchner hit him, according to DPS. Kirchner was thrown, without a helmet, and struck his head. Kaye was taken to University Medical Center at Brackenridge in serious condition, officials said.
