Chief marketing officer from TD goes to Schwab

Laurine Garrity, chief marketing officer at TD Ameritrade Inc., will take over the top marketing post at The Charles Schwab Corp. early next month

Laurine Garrity, chief marketing officer at TD Ameritrade Inc., will take over the top marketing post at The Charles Schwab Corp. early next month.

Ms. Garrity, who will be based in San Francisco, replaces Rebecca Saeger, who left Schwab last month to consider other opportunities, according to Greg Gable, a company spokesman.

The Schwab CMO is responsible for the overall advertising strategy, brand management, public relations and management of the company’s internal advertising agency.

Schwab’s marketing division is best known for its Talk to Chuck ad campaign for the company’s discount brokerage. Ms. Garrity will also play a role in the promotion of Schwab Advisor Services, the firm’s custody unit, Mr. Gable said.

The company has no plans to change its advertising or marketing strategies, he said.

TD Ameritrade spokeswoman Kristin Petrick confirmed that Ms. Garrity is no longer with the company.

“We have begun to seek a replacement and are considering both internal and external candidates,” Ms. Petrick said.
