Q) How many years were you a student in public schools?
Q) Have your children ever attended a private school? If so, why?
Q) How familiar are you with the "Race to the Top" standards for the state
of Florida?
Q) Approximately how many students were in your most recent school district?
How many schools? What annual budget?
Q) What is your opinion of educators who read PowerPoint presentations as
their primary method of teaching?
Q) How do you feel about the reliability and usefulness of student surveys
of their teachers?
Q) Are you aware that Osceola County school buses are not air-conditioned,
even during hot and humid months of the year? What would you do about this?
If the candidate or any of their children are not public-educated, they should be disqualified on the spot.
On the school buses and A/C--I think I've seen a few of the newer ones have A/C units...you might want to check a bit to see if I'm right...the trend might be to buy all A/C buses...
A question I'd add: Do you support FCAT?? If they do, I'd dump them from consideration. FCAT is a terrible system sold to the state by a private company that gets hundreds of millions $$$$ to tabulate results--results that are late and/or inaccurate to boot. And, the schools are "teaching to FCAT" rather than teaching the lessons. Look into it--it's almost as disturbing as your "honor" questions.
