Help me with my AA point math
Help me with my AA point math.
1) I wanted to confirm that as a AA platinum every flight was at least was 500 points (i.e. DFW-IAH) and that within a week of achieving 100,000 points I would receive 8 eVips (i.e. the following Monday)? If I am at 98,600 points, I just need to fly 3 separate segments?
2) My kids are at 93300 points. I wanted to confirm the following flights would make them executive platinum
KOA-HNL on HA 169 points
ORD-TVC on AA 500 points
ORD-LHR on AA S inventory class 3940/2 = 1970 points
LHR-AMS on BA S 230 = 125 (is this the minimum points?)
BRU-LHR on BA M 217 = 125 points
LHR-ORD on AA M 3940 points
ORD-TVC on AA M 224 points
Total points 93900+169+500+1970+125+125+3940+224=100350
3) I was I bit upset about the 'S' inventory fares ORD-LHR--won't get into the story here. Are those upgradeable with eVips--seem like they are? Can I wait list for the upgrade on these? I assume with the 'new upgrade rules' that since the tickets are bought I can wait to wait list these until I earn the upgrades without seriously getting behind on the upgrade list. Advice appreciated. Also, it seems like I cannot use the Business Extraa AAward because it is only available 'One-Way Cabin Upgrade on Discounted Published Fares except those booked in L, O, S, W, V or Q'--and I thought S was better than N.

First, this should be in the AA forum, not Mileage Run IMO.
Second, I don't believe you get any EQP on HA (unless an AA codeshare).
But third, I make the kids' total to be over 100K points regardless; even if they get 125 points on the BA flights (and I've received 500 pts on similar flights, but I'm not sure if that was an error or not.)

Thanks. I was more concerned that some of these were S M inventory and the AA BA webpages seem to have a lot of rules...esp for points.
Also, the last 5 segments are one itn, so I do not know if that affects me negatively somehow (i.e. only getting 224 points for ORD-TVC).
Since I do not do this often I was also worried about actual flown miles versus 'direct' miles origin / dest (i.e. ORD-LHR-AMS is counted as ORD-AMS).
