To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.

When the paddler is out of the boat, the ring is free to run fore-aft on the deck line.

The short leash is encased in stiff polyethelene to avoid entanglement issues.

The deck line is taut and terminated at each end.

In this way, the paddler can dismount and walk across a sand bar with the boat following obediently a safe distance.
