A US technology firm is to create 50 jobs in Galway with the setting up of a European operation.
Recruitment is already under way by the NEI software company and most of the jobs are expected to be filled by the end of the year.
The new jobs will be in manufacturing and technology support at the Galway-based centre in the Parkmore West Business Park.
NEI already employs 250 people worldwide. The company designs and manufactures purpose built servers for the software sector.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said the new positions were a boost to the western region and a vote of confidence in our competitiveness by a leading US company.
Meanwhile, independent delivery company Nightline has announced 50 new jobs in Dublin.
The company’s CEO, John Tuohy, said the extra jobs were part of a €5.5m expansion of its Dublin headquarters to accommodate extra business.
Nightline already employs around 600 people and has depots in seven locations in Ireland as well as a facility in Lancashire.
