We’ve already published pictures of odd children’s playgrounds (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and this is one more place that’ll make you at least puzzled…
Sooner or later everybody becomes adult and doesn’t believe in childish fairy tales anymore. But there is a place at the Back Sea which can ruin one’s childhood in a single stroke! This strange children park is situated in Sergeevka – formerly a famous resort, but now abandoned due to this “unchildish” park.
The first thing we see is a scary giant with a blanched face which reminds of Jonny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Here the “fairy tale” begins.

A huge black cat with deadly eyes and a tale twofold thicker than legs.
This part of the park is fully devoted to the works of a famous Russian juvenile author Alexander Volkov.
A scary big head is attentively watching everything in the park. One of the heroes is noosed and the two others do something strange.
These wooden soldiers are the most innocent creatures in the park…
Ktulkhu is ready to demolish your brain – just sit on the bench.
The creepy head is visible from every corner of the park.
These whales and gudgeons of the size of a whale are not soiling anymore. This picture can be named “The Aral Sea After A Nuclear Blast”
A kind firedrake.
Something from “Star Wars”?
A train which will arrive nowhere – a complete monstrosity.
An authoritative dinosaur handles near the violet orbital station.
A sad pink elephant with implanted stairs.
And this must be a monument to the sculptor’s source of inspiration!

Yes I am. However, that doesn’t excuse the creepy looking play grounds. Not to mention the safety hazards that are rampant in these places. I would never let my kids touch one of these hell holes.

I would be a little frightened by this park. But I would commend the thought. Parks are an important part of each community and a great place for children to grow. I do hope they have better parks for the kids.
Yes it would be much better if they bought a lot of plastic toys from China, where poor children are forced to work almost for free 7 days per week just to produce plastic rubbish for American parks. Great idea!

The problem with those parks are not that they are weird, but that the stuffs are in ferrocement, that is very hard, and so it is quite dangerous for the children to play there. It is very much easier to break on’s leg or head on ferrocement than on wood or plastic!

I’ve seen alot of Photoshops in my day…and that my friends photoshopped or not is plain messed up. Were good ol’ Mickey and Bugs?
I bet it was attractive to kids in it’s day. But I agree with Don, this stuff looks dangerous and I bet a number of little kids were hurt here while trying to play on this stuff. I don’t see much grass either and I bet this place gets pretty damn muddy when it rains.

Children have vivid imaginations due to their developing frontal lobes. I doubt many would be terrified by these structures. Children “see” differently. I don’t think this is a bizarre place.

the giant face with the lion is from the “wizard of oz” it’s is the wizard (the big face), the tin man (standing on the far left), the cowardly lion (in front of the tin man). the scarecrow is playing on the ladder.
things do make sense, you have to think about them and not freak out. 🙂 i bet lots of other things here are from fairy tales or other kids stories.
i would LOVE to go here! beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i know, but things do make sense if you take a second and look.
They are not from The Wizard of Oz, they are from the book´s Soviet copy written by Volkov. No matter what, the place has post-apocalyptic feel due to the materials used.

Back in the day, nearly all ukrainians sent their kids to summer camps. This is a typical sight for city playgrounds and at these camps. Most of them are run down or closed due to the poor economic situation now and look a bit creepy.
