I am wondering if my company which is a c corp. I know with our other businesses as a corp no 1099 is required? we don't use PayPal enough to qualify anyway, but would be interested to know.

I was asked by Amazon to be a seller when they first opened things up for small businesses to participate.
Over time, i have watched them take over what ever areas they find that do really well.
My sales over the years have changed radically.  I think the days of having a website that does well are over. It was a Golden Age.
Now 35 to 50 per cent of my biz comes from Amazon, which means i'm losing 30% of my profit. And because anyone can come on and sell, my margins are gone.
I'm amazed at what some people are willing to do to make a buck. If i'm only making 10 bucks on a transaction, no matter the margins, it's not worth it to me.
On the other side, if I sell something that costs $200, even with a low margin i end up with $30 minimum.
I also try to stick to products hatt have MAP, and help the vendor reign in anyone breaking those prices.
I was doing over 1.5 million dollars a year during the bubble. Now i'm down to a third of that.
I should just walk away from the whole thing. I"m a health professional, and my mission is to help people live pain free lives. Now it's more about finding products with better margins.
All of this seems great for the customers, but ultimately there will be no brick and mortar stores left to actually see products. And i think once we can't see them we won't be buying them as easily.
Maybe that's a good thing. Amazon could disappear tomorrow, and most of what we buy there is not essential to our survival.

I had a sale the first day of CIJ. What you put into it determines your success there. Hard work, patience and persistence can pay off in the long run. Spend your time promoting rather than complaining--it works better!

Well, I've been reading these posts and I have to say I'm kind of shocked at the bickering. I have an etsy site, which I promote a little, and I recently started a Bonanza account (this month). I haven't promoted my Bonanza account, and as a result (I'm sure), I have not had any sales. Regardless, sales are for the majority, my responsibility as a seller. I don't understand why people are getting uppity about different websites working or not working. Everyone finds websites that work for them, eventually. One website may have worked well for ten people, but five more people had no luck what so ever. It's just how it goes. Remember that success falls in the audience you target as  well. As I said, I have not yet had a sale on Bonanza, but I'm not against it either. I see so many negative comments about so many different websites. Up til now, I have not encountered a website I haven't sold on yet (and that is because of the push when I choose to dedicate myself to that site). Now, don't waste your time, if you don't feel like you are going to be able to be successful on a certain website, then don't use it anymore. The negative thought process you have on that website will reflect in your postings. Sellers, the more confidence you have in the site that you are using, as well as your work, the more likely your items are to sell. I may not be right, but that is the mind set that has worked for me so far (and I've only been in e-commerce for going on 7 months.)

As far as the Christmas in July networking, if I could figure out how to do it, I would LOVE to be involved! Hats off to those who are willing to take new steps and be bold! :)

Oh geez, and btw, I am not discrediting anyone who doesn't choose to involve themselves in the new 'fads' or what ever you wish to call them. I'm simply applauding those who are brave enough to do it. For those who don't, you are doing what works for you and so long as it works, there's nothing wrong with that. :)

This is the first time I've posted here, but when this subject came up I thought I would put in my 2cents.  Personally, I like the flag warning.  I sell personalized stationery items and SO MANY customers don't pay attention to my delivery times even though it's spelled out in my description and in my listing preferences.  Granted, I have lost my final value fee discounts on those items that take more than 3 days, but I want to keep my Top Rated Seller status and ship within my time frame. I am very happy to lose a few sales for those not wanting to wait, because they are generally high demanding people I would rather not deal with!  That's my side of the coin...

I knew something was up when no dog greeted me when I got home.  Then I saw the tufts of purple on the stairs ... and under the table ... and in the kitchen.

Upstairs, I found my office knee deep in purple shredded bubble wrap and my side of the bed piled high in in the same bubble wrap.

Found dog in closet with purple bubble wrap stuck between her cute little boxer teeth wiggling her cute little boxer butt and trying to look innocent despite the evidence stuck between her front teeth.  Out of a full 250 roll of bubble wrap, there was not one square of bubble wrap that had not been fully shredded, torn and mutilated.  Miss Lilly is nothing if not thorough.
