World Of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King broke the record for biggest entertainment launch in UK history when it hit the shelves at midnight last Wednesday.

Blizzard's latest expansion to its popular MMORPG outsold the previous recordholder, which also happened to be a World Of Warcraft add-on, by almost 1,000 units.

Legions of fans, many of them in costume, flocked to HMV on London's Oxford Street for the launch. Activision and Blizzard also provided some entertainment, employing actors to take on the roles of in-game characters and replacing the dog on the store's logo to an image of Warcraft's Murloc.
