 Bob Carolla, J.D.

ImageBob Carolla serves as the Director of Media Relations for NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, focusing on policy issues and supervising the NAMI StigmaBusters program.

Mr. Carolla is a member of the editorial board of BP Magazine, which focuses on the interests of people with bipolar disorder and their families.  He also works with the federal government’s National Antistigma Campaign and Resource Center to Address Discrimination and Stigma (ADS Center).

For almost 10 years, Mr. Carolla served as legislative assistant to former U.S. Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell (D-ME).

During law school at Boston University, Mr. Carolla was topics editor for the American Journal of Law & Medicine.   He is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where he served as editor of the college newspaper.   He worked summers as a reporter and columnist for a small chain of weekly newspapers in Central New York and throughout his career, he has published numerous free-lance articles.   Mr. Carolla was also an adjunct professor in national government and politics, and international relations at American University in Washington, D.C.
