Athletes Of The Week

Week:

Gianna Mlynek

Junior, Anderson Track

Gianna, returning a year out from injury, seeded seventh in the finals of the Anderson Invitational 300 IM hurdles, placed fourth with a time of 49.08. This puts her at #17 in the 51-year history of Anderson High. Gianna is also in the top 10 in the league in the 100 hurdles, sits atop the high jump marks, and is a key part of the 800 meter relay.


Madi Shaver

Sophomore, Anderson Softball

Madi, a sophomore catcher, was 6-for-8, with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored in wins over Mercy McAuley and McNicholas.


Riley Abrams

Junior, Kings Baseball

Riley threw a four-hit complete game shutout against West Clermont. He recorded five strikeouts and only gave up a pair of walks in the 3-0 win.


Kenzie Beck and Grace Simms

Kings Lacrosse

Kenzie, a senior captain, scored a total of seven goals in two games as well as registering five ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. Kenzie also eclipsed 200 career points with 157 goals and 47 assists! Grace, a senior, totaled eight points this past week (three goals and five assists) with two ground balls and one caused turnover. She was also named her senior class valedictorian!


Brady Harman

Senior, Kings Tennis

This week, Brady had wins at #1 singles against West Clermont and Bishop Fenwick.


Adriana Bashada

Senior, Lebanon Track

Adriana got two wins in both hurdle events at Stebbins this week and also recorded two PR's, 17.23 in the 100m hurdles and 50.65 in the 300m hurdles.


Emma Goins

Junior, Little Miami Track

Emma had a great week of performances, starting at the Bellbrook Invitational where she won the 100, 200, and mixed 4x400 meter relay. On Thursday, she ran season bests in the 100 and 200 to qualify for Friday's Anderson Invitational Finals where she placed second in both events. As a finale to the week, she helped her 4x400 team claim the win in the event and brought the Lady Panthers to a runner-up performance in the invitational.


Grant Kosobud

Senior, Little Miami Lacrosse

Grant, a senior defensive midfielder, collected three goals and seven ground balls in two games last week for the Panthers.


Ryne Reynolds

Freshman, Little Miami Track

Ryne is reaping the results of hard work in the winter. At the Bellbrook Invitational, he won the 1600 meter run in a time of 4:41.69. He came back on Thursday in a senior dominated 3200 meter run at the Anderson Invitational to run a PR time of 9:47.82 and place fifth. The Panthers distance squad hopes to see his continued drive and dedication for the next few years.


Summer Rolfes and Natalie Niese

Loveland Track

Summer, a sophomore, finished fourth in a very competitive Anderson Invitational. Summer long jumped a season-best 16-6. Summer competes in both softball and track. What a commitment! Natalie, a freshman, finished fifth in shot put at the Anderson Invite. Natalie threw a season-best 38‘2“. We love Natalie's dedication!


Ryan Dooley

Senior, Loveland Baseball

Ryan pitched a complete game shutout recording seven strikeouts in his first career start on the mound this past Saturday in a big conference win over Walnut Hills.


Mandy Schneider

Junior, Milford Lacrosse

Mandy had nine saves vs a very strong Indian Hill team, nine saves against Anderson to help lead to a 17-7 win, and six saves vs. MND to bring home an 11-6 win, ending the week with a solid 47 percent save percentage.


Ellie Carnahan

Junior, Turpin Track

Ellie won the 300 hurdles (46.33) and placed second in the 100 hurdles (15.98) at the 24-team Anderson Invitational. Both were lifetime-best times.


Bridget McKee

Sophomore, Turpin Track

Bridget won the 3200 meter run (11:25) and placed second in the 1600 meter run (5:11) at the Anderson Invitational. Both were lifetime-best times.


Stella Reed

Senior, Turpin Lacrosse

Stella had a monster game against Seven Hills this week with seven goals, helping power the Spartans to a 19-11 victory over the Stingers.

Turpin Baseball

During a week in which the Spartans went 5-0, senior infielder Ty Covington was 6-for-12 (.500) with two HRs and eight RBIs. Sophomore third baseman Mac Reed hit .333 for the week with two doubles and eight stolen bases. Leading the Spartans on the mound this week was junior RHP Joe Lafkas going 2-0 in 8 2/3 innings with 15 strikeouts. Senior catcher Mitchell Tamkus was 4-for-9 (.444) and had a huge come-from-behind walk-off two-run single in the seventh inning to knock off Little Miami on Wednesday. On Friday in an ECC match-up with West Clermont, Senior Luke Jilek hit a three-run home run vaulting him to the top of the ECC home run leaderboard with four long balls on the season! Luke’s homer came while the Spartans were trailing in the bottom of the fourth by a score of 1-0. Turpin would not relinquish the lead and go on to a 4-1 Victory.


Alex Conrad

Senior, Walnut Hills Baseball

In a win against Milford, Alex went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. He scored two runs and drove in two runs.


Jordan Gravett

Senior, West Clermont Volleyball

Jordan picked up his 1,000th career assist as the Wolves defeated Oak Hills this past week. Jordan had a great week, picking up 16 kills, five blocks, 24 digs, and 60 assists. Jordan is a huge asset to the Wolves and continues to be a great leader on the floor.


Addison Kasselman

Senior, West Clermont Softball

Addi hit a grand slam in our game at Sycamore on Tuesday to pull the Lady Wolves back into the game and onward to a win! She also hit two home runs in a very exciting game at Kings on Thursday! In this week's games, she hit for an average of .526 and had 21 putouts and three assists at first base. She was also involved in multiple double plays and even a triple play this week. Keep up the great work, Addi!
